Ryan Murphy Reveals 'American Horror Story' Season 4 Time Period

'American Horror Story: Coven' still has a few episodes before taking its final bow, but that doesn't mean die-hard horror fans like us can't start getting pumped for what's to come next season. And what exactly does Ryan Murphy have in store for the series' fourth installment?

Well, let's put it this way...we'll be saying Auf Wiedersehen to New Orleans.

While we knew the FX franchise was going to shy away from anything contemporary, Murphy exclusively revealed to Entertainment Weekly the exact year Season 4 will take place. And, apparently, there will be accents!

“It’s set in 1950,” Murphy teases. “If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there’s some more clues in that year. It’s a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we’ve done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I’m very excited!”

So something that takes place in America (or at least I assume so...it's not called 'International Horror Story,' after all) during 1950 and involves a German accent. I suppose we can probably rule out it having anything to do with the Walt Disney release of 'Cinderella,' right? (Though wouldn't that be a twist!) But even with this rather important clue, there's still so many different plot possibilities available. Let the Wikipedia browsing begin!

So when you're watching 'Coven's brand new episode later tonight (click here for teasers), be on the lookout for any further hints regarding next year's plot. (For example, if a Kathy Bates head starts speaking in German we'll know we're on the right track.) Something tells me my previous plot predictions are way off base.
