In the episode ‘Twelve Angry Pups’, Sergeant Tibbs hisses at Lieutenant Pug for his claims that the cats must have stolen his water cannon, which is one of the few times in the series where he has shown disdain towards Pug for making comments against cats.

Episode Quotes

Cruella: Anita, Retro; I’m so glad you’re home! There’s someone you must meet: my favorite niece, Ivy!
(A car door opens, causing the Dalmatians to cower in fear. A little girl in a red dress steps out)
Roger: (to Anita) They’re multiplying! Hold me!
(Roger and the Dalmatians look at Ivy, they all stop being afraid)
Ivy: So nice to meet you, sir. I like making new friends. (to Anita, giving her some flowers) I picked these just for you, ma’am. Aren’t they pretty?
Anita: (taking the flowers) Oh, thank you Ivy!
Lucky: (shocked) She’s a De Vil?

Ivy: I bet you puppies would like a nice little treat.
Rolly: She’s won my trust! (Rolly runs up to Ivy and eats a red ball she gives him; he chews it, though flames shoot out of his mouth) Red hot candy! Red hot candy! Ah! (Rolly jumps into a nearby water trough)
Ivy: (giggling) Puppies are so easy!
Cadpig: So, she is a De Vil. The stealth version.
Lucky: We’ve better keep our eyes on her.

Television Reporter: Because of an incident at the Dearly Farm, all the water in Grutely is contaminated with gravy. Everyone is urged to boil their water, or pour it over biscuits.
Lucky: Well, at least if we’re locked in here, we can’t get blamed for anything else.
Television Reporter: We interrupt again for another special bulletin. Moments ago, the Grutely post office was attacked by one-hundred and one ferocious Dalmatians, as you can see in the security camera footage. Grutely animal control is investigating, but who are we kidding, it was those Dearly dogs. We all know it.
Lucky: But, we never left the barn! Ivy can’t pin this on us!

Lieutenant Pug: Wake up and listen up, you sleepy eyed sissies! Today’s survival mission is one that you’ll remember for the rest of your dog days!
(Lieutenant Pug is hit by a falling newspaper)
Cadpig: Karma! Gotta love it!
Lieutenant Pug: It’s began! The great cat invasion! (he shows the Dalmatians the newspaper, ‘Cats Attack’ is written on the front) Cats attack!
Spot: Uh, not this again.
Cadpig: (opening up the newspaper) Lieutenant, it says here ‘Catsup prices up, DA attacks crime’. Hmm?
Lieutenant Pug: It’s code! Like, you know, something that means something else! Now, we’ve got to build a bunker; we could be overwhelmed by pussy cat paratroopers any minute!

Spot: Now, I’m acquiring a taste for dog kibble; makes me feel closer to you guys. What do you say we go mark some territory?
Rolly: Uh, thanks, but since the survival training is cancelled, I’m going to catalog my food can collection.
Cadpig: And I am going to do my daily affirmation. A visualization a day keeps the negativity away!
(Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig and Spot enter their clubhouse, though notice that things have been moved)
Lucky: Hey, who messed up the place?!
Rolly: My can collection! Somebody’s been into it! My limited edition franken-beanies can is gone! It was the centerpiece of my whole collection.
Cadpig: (gasping) Someone took my daily affirmation calendar! What will I do? How will I center? How do I focus my rage so I can rip the limbs off the thieving jerk?!
Lucky: The TV is gone!
Rolly: Not the TV!

(The group has just caught Mooch, whom they suspect to be a thief)
Spot: This is a citizen’s arrest!
Lucky: You have the right to remain guilty!
Cadpig: Anything you say will be a lie!

Mayor Ed Pig: As Mayor of this here fair farm, and its highest ranking official, I appoint myself judge.
Spot: You’ll need a prosecutor! Let me fry him, er, try him!
Mooch: Hey! Somebody’s gotta defend me!
Mayor Ed Pig: Eenie, Meanie, Miney… Lucky, I appoint you his public defender.
Lucky: But, I think he’s guilty too.
Mayor Ed Pig: Perfect!

(Mayor Ed Pig has called Lucky and Spot to the side of his stand)
Mayor Ed Pig: Now, uh, I’m not sure as to how to rule on this one. He might be an expert, he might not. Make me an offer.
Spot: A bucket of slop!
Lucky: This is unethical! Two buckets!
Spot: Three buckets and a corn fritter!
Mayor Ed Pig: Sold! He ain’t nothin’ but an expert! Next witness!

Lucky: So, you say Mooch was with you when the crimes took place. He couldn’t have stolen the TV, or the other missing stuff, right?
Dipstick: Uh, right.
Lucky: (to Spot) Your witness.
Spot: Hmm, who were you with when the crimes took place?
Dipstick: Uh, I, uh, I, I uh. (pointing to Mooch) It was him! It was him! Him! Him! I was with him! (Dipstick starts to cry)
Spot: And, uh, what were you two doing?
Dipstick: Um, don’t tell me, I know this one. Um.
Spot: Well?
Dipstick: Oh yeah. We were stealing from the pantry. Um, Nanny left the kitchen door open, so we helped ourselves! (Dipstick bursts into tears)

Mayor Ed Pig: Has the jury reached a verdict?
Dalmatian Jury: Guilty!
Two-Tone: Oh, I can’t decide! He looks guilty, but looks can be deceiving. I think he looks cute!
Mayor Ed Pig: Eleven out of twelve, close enough.

Cadpig: I think we can all learn something from today’s affirmation! When a wrong is committed, don’t rush to judgment!
Lucky: Sorry we didn’t believe you, Mooch.
Cadpig: Oh, wait, that was yesterday’s affirmation. Today’s is: when a really big wrong is committed, find the jerk who did it and pound him into moose meal!
Lucky: Pug!
(All of the farm creatures start to chase after Pug and the screen fades to black)

In the episode ‘Twelve Angry Pups’, in the scene right after Mooch claims he’s innocent, the sound loops to have the animals say the same several lines that they just said. Cultural References

Episode Title: Twelve Angry Pups

This is a reference to the 1957 film entitled Twelve Angry Men, which stared Henry Fonda and Lee Cobb. It was directed by Sidney Lumet and its plot focused on a jury who was attempting to come to a conclusion on whether or not a boy killed his father one night, though only one juror doesn’t believe he is guilty and he must convince his colleagues to change their mind on the case.

Analysis

Ivy’s Hair

In the episode ‘Poison Ivy’, Ivy’s hair takes on a different form depending on if she is currently portraying herself as innocent and pure, or her typical, ruthless self. When she is playing the role of the innocent niece, her hair is in pig tails, in which the bows in her hair merely serve as accessories. However, when she lets out her true self, Ivy’s pig tails stick straight up, in a form reminiscent to devil horns, in which the bows in her hair help keep her hair up in such a fashion.
