The High Price Of Fame: When Spot grows tired of always being teased and insulted on the Dearly Farm, she decides to go to the swamp in order to reflect upon her situation. However, when Swamp Rat approaches her and offers her a chance to become respected by the community, she accepts his offer, despite not knowing what the cost of his services will be.
The Great Cat Invasion: Tired of Lieutenant Pug’s constant obsession with the great cat invasion, Lucky and Cadpig decide to trick him into thinking that cats are using Cruella’s mansion as a base of operations. Meanwhile, Cruella De Vil is holding a press conference at her mansion to reveal her latest feline themes clothing, which the Dalmatians are hoping will keep Lieutenant Pug distracted.

Episode Quotes |
| |
Spot: Oh, nobody respects me. They think I’m a buffoon, a ninny, a dumb cluck. I’d trade my feathers for a little respect.
Swamp Rat: Howdy misses Spot.
Spot: Swamp Rat!
Swamp Rat: I couldn’t help but overhear your touching soliloquy.
Spot: What do you want?
Swamp Rat: Oh, I’m just a friend here to extend a helping paw in your hour of need, and I just happen to have with me everything you need to gain the respect you so richly deserve.
Spot: You can’t give me respect, can you?
Swamp Rat: Give you?! No! Giving’s bad for business, but I’ll sell you some, for a price. | (Spot has just managed to prevent the wagon from hitting the television set)
Lucky: (to the TV) Are you all right? I was so worried!
Cadpig: Talk about inner strength!
Rolly: Talk about rubber chickens!
Lucky: Spot, you’ve saved the TV! You really are a hero! | Cadpig: Come on, let’s go home!
Spot: I can never go home! The Swamp Rat will tell everyone my secret.
Rolly: We already know your secret.
Spot: And you still want to be friends with a embarrassment?
Lucky: You’re not an embarrassment! You’re our pal! None of this woulda happened if we hadn’t teased you.
Cadpig: We only exploit your inadequacies because we love you; we didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. | (Swamp Rat has just seen Spot get accepted back by her friends)
Swamp Rat: I am so moved, but considering the chicken seems to skipping town, I better collect what’s owed me now. Boys, start plucking.
(Steven and Cydne approach Spot)
Spot: Fine, you can have my feathers! Take ‘em all!
Cydne: I just love the collection business; it’s so, so, satisfying. | Spot: You guys gave up a whole hundred dollars, for me?!
Lucky: Spot, you’re our friend! You’re worth more than any old check.
Rolly: Besides, where’s a dog gonna cash a check anyway? | Spot: Hello?! If you wanna get Pug off your backs, just learn the drills!
Lucky: Why?! There isn’t going to by any great cat invasion!
Cadpig: It’s all a product of Pug’s deranged imagination. Oops! Did that sound judgmental? | Lieutenant Pug: I don’t get it. I’m trying to save their bacon; trying to prepare them for armakitten, but they just don’t care!
Tripod: Well, I’m behind you, sir.
Lieutenant Pug: I know, and thanks for kissing up. | (A semi-truck full of cats has just arrived at Cruella’s mansion)
Horace: Madame, I can see spending money on table decorations and floral arrangements, but why did you have to purchase all these cats? Oh, oh my, you’re not going to…
Cruella: (interrupting) Oh, don’t be a fool! I wouldn’t dream of making the delightful little beasts into coats; it would be far too politically incorrect. | Cadpig: You know, I’ve been thinking. There’s a teeny-tiny, itsy-bitsy, eenie-weenie chance that Pug’s feelings might be hurt because we tricked him.
Lucky: Nah, besides, it’s time he woke up and learned that there’s no such thing as a great cat invasion! | (Referring to the cats who have invaded the Dearly Farm)
Rolly: They’re drinking the milk, they’re scratching the chow tower, they’ve even changed the channel!
Lucky: Those, those animals!
Spot: I’m not gonna say I told you so, but…
Lieutenant Pug: (interrupting) I told you so!
Lucky, Rolly, Cadpig, Spot: Lieutenant Pug!
Lieutenant Pug: Glad to see me, aren’t ya? You bet you are! Now, fall in, and let’s kick some tail! |

Episode Goofs |

In the episode ‘The High Price Of Fame’, it shouldn’t have been feasible for the Dalmatians to mail in the video of Spot to the television show, let alone receive a check for it, since they wouldn’t have been able to write down the mailing or return address. |

Cultural References |
| |
Cadpig: For the TV show! Stupendously Embarrassing Home Videos!
This is a reference to the real television program that debuted in 1989, America’s Funniest Home Videos, which was hosted by Bob Saget for a majority of its existence. The show consists of videos that were mailed in by families, in which the funniest video typically receives a cash prize. This reference was made in the episode ‘The High Price Of Fame’, when Spot asked her friends what show they wanted to send in a video to. | Rolly: Hey Spotacus! Everybody’s talking about how you saved Pug!
This is the reference to the historical figure named Spartacus, who led a slave rebellion against the Romans in the year 73 B.C. The story of Spartacus was made into a 1960 film of the same name, in which a famous scene of the film was parodied in a wide array of media. This reference was made in the episode ‘The High Price Of Fame’, when Spot gets confronted over the fact that she saved Lieutenant Pug’s life. | Cruella: Oh, don’t be a fool; I wouldn’t dream of making the delightful little beasts into coats. It would be far too politically incorrect.
This is a reference to the series’ origin, or more specifically, the original novel and the subsequent animated and live-actions movies based on that novel. In the original 1956 novel, which was written by Dodie Smith, Cruella De Vil kidnapped a large number of Dalmatians in an attempt to use their coats as fabric for her fashion designs. While the subsequent movies held the same plot, several differences existed between them, but the reference made in the episode ‘The Great Cat Invasion’ was an obvious nod towards Cruella De Vil’s original actions in the franchise. |
