10 Things I Hate About You: Dance Little Sister

When Bianca gets asked to Padua High’s Fall Fling by Beau Bradley, the captain of the soccer team, she sets out to convince Patrick to take Kat to the dance since their father has prohibited Bianca from dating until Kat does. Will Patrick give in to Bianca’s plea?

Meanwhile, Cameron overhears Beau talking about taking Bianca to a hotel after the dance, so he puts into action a plan that will help keep a watchful eye over her and thwart any advances by Beau.

Episode Quotes
Bianca: You leave me no choice. (walks towards Patrick) Patrick...
(Kat grabs onto Bianca's arm)
Bianca: ...will you take my sister to the Spring Fling?
Kat: Excuse her, she was dropped on her head as an infant, now she has these episodes. Let's get you medicated.
Bianca: Look, deep deep down beneath my sisters crusty exoskeleton she has a soft spot for you.
Kat: (to Bianca) I am going to kill you in your sleep.
Kat: I'm sorry, but I am desperate. (to Patrick) My father is a freak who won't let me date until she does, so will you please take her to the dance? You can consider it a charitable contribution to the free Bianca Stratford foundation.
Patrick: OK, I'll do it.
Kat & Bianca: (in unison) What?
Bianca: I'll take you to that dance.
Kat: Even if you are serious, what makes you think I'd go?
Bianca: Don't ask questions, just say yes.
Patrick: I am serious. I'd like to see how you look in a dress. I'll pick you up at 7!
(Patrick walks off[ii])
Patrick: We both have dates to the dance.
Kat: Sleep with one eye opened.

Bianca: Come with me I'll get you fixed up.
Kat: I don't need your help.
Bianca: No, what you need is a team of professional stylists, but I'm what you got. Patrick is going to love me.

Bianca: OHMIGOD I look like a princess. This is my first date and I think I might pee my pants.

Kat: I'd hardly call this dancing, these kids are just dry humping to music.
Patrick: In that case, you wanna dance?

Kat: So listen, I never thanked you for the other night, during the fire.
Patrick: Yeah that kiss was pretty good, right?
Kat: Nooo, for rescueing my Mom's records. Maybe you weren't raised by wolves.
Patrick: Was that almost a compliment?
Kat: Almost.

Patrick: By the way, I was right.
Kat: About what?
Patrick: About how good you would look in a dress.

Episode Goofs
In the scene in the parking lot with Cameron, Bianca and Beau, it's revealed that Cameron stoled Beau's phone and kept it in his pocket. Though it's not explained why Cameron has the phone with him at the dance at all or why he didn't simply turn it off.

Cultural References
Kat: (to Bianca) "WOW, you realize this isn't Sweet Valley High, right?"

Sweet Valley High was a book series created by Francine Pascal and written by numerous ghost writers from 1983 to 2003. It was also turned into a successful syndicated TV series from 1994 to 1997.

Beau: I'm the David Beckham of Padua High.

David Beckham is a star soccer player in the U.S. based Major League Soccer. He's also known as an international playboy with a taste for hot women and high living.

Bianca: Like She's All That, the classic film about the ugly girl who becomes pretty.

The 1999 teen classic starred Freddie Prince Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook.

Bianca: But this pity party is just getting started. The DJ is gonna spin some serious Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly Clarkson was the first ever winner of American Idol and is now a uber successful pop star with millions of albums sold.
