Jack wants to get the hero who stopped a possible subway accident booked for the show. The man ends up being Dennis, Liz's ex-boyfriend who hopes to win her back. Meanwhile, Jack is coming up with blanks while searching for a hip Republican celebrity for the weekends John McCain fund raising dinner, settling on Bucky Bright, an aging 1940's star. Not to be outdone, Jack turns to Tracey as a representative of the Republicans.

| Jack: Lemon, I'm helping to organize a little fund-raising dinner for John McCain this weekend and I need some women to attend, so it doesn't turn into another huge sausage fest.
Liz: Well, I don't know. (reading the invitation) What's the committee to re-invade Vietnam?
Jack: Just say you'll come. Johnathan is going to round up all the cool Republican celebrities.
Liz: Like who, Chuck Norris?
Jack: No, C-Nor and I had a falling out after I switched to another dojo.

| Dennis' subway hero storyline is a reference to Wesley Autrey, a New York City man who saved another person from an oncoming train during January of 2007.
