In the novel on which this episode is based, the bride to be was Detective Carella's sister. Here she is changed to the daughter of an old family friend.

Neither Norman Fell nor Gregory Walcott appear in this episode.

Darryl Hickman is the older brother of Dwayne Hickman of Dobie Gillis fame.

Analysis
The book version of this episode was good. The televised version of the book is only average. A weak and not too believable ending seals things.
