When the Mills family relocates to Beverly Hills from Kansas, Annie Mills and her brother Dixon start school at West Beverly Hills High, the alma mater of their father, and must adjust to a completely different atmosphere than that of their Kansas high school.

In the second half of the series premiere, Naomi finds herself in hot water after failing an assignment and having Ryan and Kelly tell Harry about the grade. Meanwhile, Dixon deals with jealous teammates on the lacrosse team and Annie develops a crush.

Annie and Dixon's plans for Friday night are stalled when they learn about Harry and Debbie's family bowling night. While at the bowling alley, Ethan, Navid and Silver show up and family bowling night is put off so that Annie and Dixon can hang out with their friends. Later, Ty arrives and Annie must choose between him and Ethan. Meanwhile, Naomi has to deal with a bad night with her father; and Dixon runs into a situation that sheds light on Silver's drinking.

Harry learns that West Beverly Hills High's theater director will not be able to direct the school musical, leading Tabitha to offer her time, surprising Annie, Harry, and Debbie. When Tabitha does not handle Adrianna well, Kelly talks Brenda into taking over as director, which leads to a heated confrontation between them over Ryan. Meanwhile, Dixon worries about his family's finances and visits Nat at the Peach Pit in order to get a part-time job; Naomi confronts her father's mistress; and Annie goes on a date with Ethan.

Annie and Ty spend an increasing amount of time together as the opening night of "Spring Awakening" rapidly approaches. When Harry sees Annie and Ty kissing, he and Debbie worry about how fast Annie and Ty's relationship is progressing. Silver gets help from Dixon with managing backstage, which brings the two closer. Meanwhile, Naomi vows to get her parents back together after they announce they are getting divorced; and Brenda, Kelly and Ryan confront Adrianna about her substance abuse problem, which may give Annie the opportunity to take the lead role in the play.

When Debbie is given the opportunity to shoot a fashion show for Nylon Magazine, Annie uses the event for a school project. Naomi tries to use the shoot to mend her parents' marriage, but her plan ends up backfiring. Meanwhile, Kelly receives a phone call that changes her relationship with Ryan.

Annie and Ethan get paired up for a class project where they must take care of a baby. This time together forces them to see each other in a new light. At Silver's half-birthday party, Silver and Dixon continue to get closer. Meanwhile, Harry and Debbie must deal with Harry's past when Tracy tells Harry that she's hired an investigator to find their son. Elsewhere, Ryan tries to cope with Kelly leaving and decides to try online dating.

As Annie prepares for her driver's test, she and Ethan make plans to go to the Homecoming dance without it being a date. Adrianna confesses the truth about her drug use, which clears Naomi's name and forces her to attend rehab. At the dance, Ryan sees Kimberly buying drugs from a student; Debbie confronts Tracy about her behavior toward Harry; and Silver and Dixon are able to go do the dance, despite her root canal.

Harry and Debbie reveal to Annie and Dixon that Harry had a son who was given up for adoption 22 years ago. Meanwhile, Silver has the girls over for a girls' night, but the simple night together quickly escalates into a house party.

Noami grows spiteful as Annie and Ethan grow closer, causing her to deliver an unwelcomed surprise at Annie's sweet 16 party. Meanwhile, the school is all buzzing over the news that Ryan was given a leave of absence, and Adrianna discovers Navid's secret.

Annie and Naomi call a truce due to the appearance of their half-brother Sean, in town as they deal with his unexpected presence. Meanwhile, Silver is unhappy with the interest a cheerleader is showing Dixon, and Brenda and Kelly struggle with the distancing in their longtime friendship.

Debbie, Harry, Annie, Dixon and Sean have a family game night, but Annie become suspicious of Sean when she overhears a phone call. Adrianna asks Brenda to come to support day at the rehab center, but the day does not go as planned.

Debbie and Tabitha clash after Tabitha surprises Annie and Dixon with a new car. Adrianna begins to open up to Naomi about her secret. Meanwhile, Silver and Dixon spend the day together at the beach, but things take an awkward turn when Dixon says three little words.

Adrianna must cope with her decision about her baby and her baby's father and turns to Naomi and Kelly for support. Ethan helps Annie prepare for the school play's try-out and are shocked to find out that Ty is also auditioning. Meanwhile, Dixon asks Debbie for relationship advice.

Adrianna reveals her pregnancy to the baby's father and is shocked by his parents' handling of the situation. Naomi stands by Adrianna's side while they devise a plan to break the pregnancy news to Adrianna's mother, Constance Annie and Ethan are still shaken from his accident but their relationship becomes strained when he starts spending a lot of time with Rhonda. Silver confronts Dixon and tells him the words he has been longing to hear.

Naomi is intrigued by a mystery man who has shown up at her home. Silver and Dixon still manage to get together despite her Valentine's Day plans falling through. Meanwhile, Ethan has grown tired of Annie's jealousy towards Rhonda.

In an attempt to get close to Liam, Naomi offers to be his math tutor, but she gets more than she bargains for when he takes her out for a wild night. Silver takes a class assignment a little too far when she creates a video that documents her love for Dixon. When Silver screens the video for her fellow students, everyone, including Ryan, is shocked when they see Dixon and Silver in an intimate situation. Upon seeing the reaction of everyone around her, Silver blames Ryan for the situation. Ethan and Annie's relationship remains rocky but more problems arise when Adrianna reveals that Rhonda and Ethan shared a kiss at the dance. Harry and Debbie are surprised to learn that Annie quit the school play in order to spend more time with Ethan

Ryan heads out to calm down Silver after her video airs, but she disapperas before he can. Dixon talks to his parents about the situation who are shocked by what has happened. Adrianna gets a glimpse of things to come when she and Navid babysit for Kelly.

Kelly and Silver are shocked when Donna arrives in town. Annie and Dixon take a road trip to visit someone from Dixon's past while Ethan spends his spring break working for Habitat for Humanity. Naomi also decides to work for Habitat when she learns that Liam will be there.

Now that they have finally sold their home in Kansas, Harry and Debbie have a yard sale, Beverly Hills-style. Meanwhile, Donna talks to Kelly about her separation, and later search for a place for Donna to open a clothing store; Dixon helps Silver in her recovery; Liam and Ethan's unlikely friendship continues; and when a scandal involving Naomi's father comes to light, her trust in Annie begins to falter.

While moving into the Wilson's home temporarily, Naomi discovers that her dramatic older sister has returned to town. Elsewhere, Adrianna and Navid tell their future plans to his parents; and Annie is set up with Liam's friend by Naomi on a double date.

Adrianna and Navid don't receive the reaction they expected after revealing their future plans to their friends. In a show of support Naomi, Annie and Silver throw Adrianna a bridal shower, while Dixon, Ethan and Liam surprise Navid with a bachelor party at a burlesque club. Now that that Naomi's big sister Jen has returned, the two of them decide to live together and ask their scandalous father to release Naomi's trust fund in order to support their wild spending habits. Ryan and Jen bump into each other at the Peach Pit and get wrapped up in a conversation of lies before deciding to have dinner together.

Naomi drops her concerns over Jen's overspending after being asked to the prom by Liam. Meanwhile, Annie is going to the prom with a geek just to prove Liam is wrong. After Navid confronts Ty about his fatherly responsibilities, Adrianna goes into labor. Kelly's warnings about Jen has Ryan seeing it as a sign of jealousy.

A post-prom party is being held at Naomi's home when she has a fit after walking in on Liam and Annie and makes accusations which has Annie at her breaking point. Meanwhile, Brenda visits Adrianna at the hospital as she deliver her baby, and a fight occurs between Dixon and Ethan over Silver.
