Mama Can You Hear Me? - Recap

The episode begins with Navid waking up to some loud country music. He tries to desperately go back to sleep, but with the blaring music in the background it’s impossible to do so. Dixon and Adrianna walk in, Navid tells them about how a brokenhearted Austin has been playing “the same country crap for a week”. Just then a bare bodied Austin walks into the room grabs a beer a walks in. Seeing his piteous condition the trio decides to do something to get him out of this rut. Dixon takes the initiative. Meanwhile, at the office Annie and Naomi are doing some catching up. Naomi accuses Annie of letting Liam get in the way of her life. They further discuss Liam and the new girl situation, especially with Annie now having to leave for further studies. Naomi, is leaving when she bangs into Holly the boss’s daughter; with the papers in her hands strewn getting strewn on the floor. Holly taunts Naomi “I hope those aren’t for my mom she hates sloppiness”. Naomi apologizes.

Holly goes a bit further, in pouring her coffee on the papers. Naomi and the rest in room are left dumbfounded. Holly leaves; but not before she has unloaded a truckload of attitude on Naomi. Naomi tells Annie that she doesn’t want to get involved in petty rivalries. In order to become a ‘New Naomi’ she decides to patch things between Holly and her mother. Nick tells Ivy that he is going to Afghanistan for his new photography gig. Ivy though worried, is supportive. Meanwhile, Greg tells Erin that, he is getting a divorce, so it will henceforth be much easier for them to be together. He also tells her that he has been offered a position in Columbia University, and would like Erin to come along with him to New York. Erin is excited at the proposition and readily agrees. Elsewhere, Dixon and Navid are outside, planning their “make Austin feel better” campaign. Suddenly on the street, Dixon sees Erin kissing her new boyfriend and warns Navid to go the other way.

Navid decides to not be the crazy ex-boyfriend, and instead walks up to greet Erin. He tries to clear things with Greg, and suddenly realizes that he has met him somewhere before. A shocked Erin drags her boyfriend and leaves. Meanwhile, Liam and Vanessa are getting all cozy, when Annie walks in. She tells them that she has certain loose ends to tie up and hence hasn’t left for Carnegie Mellon yet. While Liam is in the other room getting a magazine for Annie, she gives Vanessa her purse. It turns out they have the same purse; hence she mistakenly took Vanessa’s. The two share some verbal barbs, with Vanessa threatening her saying “you don’t know what I am capable of”. Annie in turn tells Vanessa to stay away from Liam, and she would keep her mouth shut. Back in the office the boss is briefing Naomi about the impending award season. She entrusts Naomi with a very important assignment.

Just then Holly enters the room. Naomi suggests to her boss that maybe Holly can help too. Although Rachel is reluctant, she agrees to go with Naomi’s suggestion, and appoints Holly as Naomi’s new assistant; shocking both Naomi and Holly. Holly tells a worried Naomi “guess you got your revenge after all”. Next morning at the coffee table, Naomi tells very surprised Ivy about the whole thing that transpired the previous day. Ivy asks Naomi if she needs a photographer for the event. Ivy confesses to her that she doesn’t want Nick to go to Afghanistan; so if he gets and assignment locally, it would be great. Naomi replies “he is hired”, but on the condition that he get a shot of hers with Mitchell Nash. Holly walks into the room in the role of Naomi’s new assistant. Although not happily, she has completed all her chores. Naomi tries to make amends, by entrusting Holly with the very important assignment of getting Mitchell Nash from the hotel to the event. Meanwhile, Dixon tells Austin that he is indulging in a bit too much drinking to get over the break up.

Austin tells him to stay out of his way. Annie comes into the bar looking for Liam. Annie is shocked to hear that Vanessa left with Liam. Annie beseeches Adrianna to recollect where the two went. Adrianna doesn’t see the urgency, nor does she understand the reason for Annie reacting the way she is. Annie tells Adrianna about the fake ids she found in Vanessa’s purse, and also about the maroon paint on Liam’s bike. Adrianna feels, Annie isn’t over Liam and hence is reacting this way. Meanwhile at event, the boss is really happy with the way Naomi has organized things, while she is waiting intently for Holly to arrive with Mitchell Nash. Holly arrives at the scene and tells them that Mitchell Nash wasn’t staying at the hotel she had gone to. The boss blasts Naomi for entrusting such an important responsibility to Holly, who according to her has always been irresponsible. Meanwhile, Navid and Adrianna discuss how things have gotten better between them; both are glad that they are friends again. Adrianna suggests that he go and talk to Erin. Meanwhile at the bar, Austin is still in his country music mood. Dixon once again tries to talk some sense into Austin.

He shares his past relationship woes with Austin. Dixon comes up with a plan to make Austin feel better. Meanwhile, Liam and Vanessa are on their road trip. Vanessa feels, things aren’t over between Liam and Annie. Liam assures Vanessa that things are over between him and Annie. Vanessa takes Liam to show him something. Meanwhile, Navid knocks at Erin’s door and is informed by Greg who opens the door that, she has just gone out. He welcomes Navid to wait inside. He tells Navid about him and Erin moving to New York together. Just then Erin walks in, and Greg gets a call from his daughter and leaves the room to take it. Hearing the name of his daughter, Navid realizes that the child is Adriana’s baby who the guy has adopted. Navid asks Erin if Greg knows that Adrianna and she are friends. Navid requests Silver to come clean with Adrianna and Greg. Erin tells Navid to stay out of it. Meanwhile at the party, Nick informs Ivy that he just got an offer to go to Rwanda with a documentary filmmaker.

Ivy makes it amply clear to Nick that, she isn’t happy about him planning on going off on assignments to warzones. Meanwhile Holly and Naomi are at the hotel to pick up Mitchell Nash. They find a completely drunk Nash by the hotel pool. Meanwhile, Vanessa brings Liam to her house. Standing outside her house, she confesses to Liam that she was the one who hit Liam’s motorcycle. Liam is incredulous. Just then Annie arrives at the scene, surprising Liam. Annie tells Liam about Vanessa’s criminal record, besides everything else. Vanessa confesses that although she did not confess to the hit and run, she was worried about Liam and hence stuck around. Liam is angrier about Annie stalking them, and understands why Vanessa did what she did. Liam decides to stick with Vanessa. Meanwhile, Dixon and Austin are venting out some pent up frustration by vandalizing Holly’s sorority home with eggs and toilet paper.

Meanwhile, Holly and Naomi, haul in a completely drunk Nash to the event. He pukes on the red carpet, with the reporters having a field day. Later Holly and her mother are at it, with Holly trying to defend her position in all that transpired. Naomi again tries defending Holly in front of her mother. The whole thing proves counterproductive, with Naomi getting fired. Later, a depressed Annie meets up with depressed Ivy. The two have a heart to heat, about the events that transpired in their lives. Meanwhile, Holly and Naomi have hit it off as friends. Holly thanks Naomi for all that she did for her. Meanwhile, Ivy meets up with Nick at the party. She apologizes to Nick about her earlier behavior. The two kiss and make up. Meanwhile, Austin thanks Dixon for getting him out of his self pity. Dixon reads on the internet that the sorority house they had vandalized was burned to the ground. The episode ends with Navis about to tell Adrianna about Erin.
