A for Andromeda is a remake of the 1961 BBC science fiction classic A for Andromeda. While the original series is said to have been seen by over 13 million viewers, almost none of the original program exists in the archives.
While the series follows the plot-line of the original series written by Fred Hoyle and John Elliot, the new remake written by Richard Fell is not an exact copy of the original.
Filming of the series is already complete (completed February 21, 2006). The series was filmed at Stanmore Air base and the Brecon Beacons.
