It was revealed just before this episode aired that the show would be returning for a 3rd season. The fire was meant to be a cliffhanger into the next season where the entire house (not just the kitchen) would need to be fixed.

Parts of this show would eventually be used again in the 4th season for Saffy's play.

Patsy: (To Saffy) ...I resent you!
Edina: No you don't sweetie-
Patsy: Yes I do, I hate you! Just when my life hit a good patch, along you came you miserable piece of flesh. You should have ended up in the dustbin; the incinerator was too good for you! Saffy: A knitting needle?
Patsy: A KNITTING NEEDLE!!! (Saffy smacks Patsy)

Edina: I told you the facts of life, didn't I sweetie?
Saffy: If you mean that time you sat on my bed and shook me awake at two o'clock in the morning stoned out of your brain, and slurred into my ear "oh by the way sweetie, people have it off," then yes you told me the facts of life.

Edina: The moment you were born darling I knew that I wanted you. Mommy wanted you sweetie. (Edina & Saffy hug)
Patsy: However! The day after...
Edina: SHUT UP!!!

Gran washes the same bowl several times while doing the dishes in the family room. That must be one messy bowl.

Mother locks everyone in the front room with a key lock. How many sitting room doors have a key lock on it? And why would the key be in the lock?

When Saffy rings the fire service at the beginning of the episode there is no way you can get through that quick. First you have to ring 999 (as she has done) tell the operator which service you want then wait for them to patch you through and then tell them the address.
