The director Charles Palmer would later cast both Christina Cole (Lettice Protheroe) and Angela Pleasence (Mrs. Hartnell) in the 2007 Doctor Who episode "The Shakespeare Code". They played Lilith and Queen Elizabeth I respectively | Angela Pleasence (Mrs. Hartnell) is the second member of her family to appear in a television adaptation of a Miss Marple novel. Her father, Donald Pleasence, played Jason Rafiel in the Miss Marple episode "A Carribbean Mystery" in 1989. | Sir Derek Jacobi (Colonel Protheroe) and Christina Cole (Lettice Protheroe) both later played villains in 2007 Doctor Who episodes. Sir Derek played Professor Yana / The Master in "Utopia" while Cole played Lilith in "The Shakespeare Code". |
