American Airlines Flight 965, heading from Miami International Airport (Florida) to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (Cali, Colombia). Plane: Boeing 757
On December 20, 1995, the flight was approaching to Cali. The controllers told them if they wanted to fly a straight-in approach to runway 19. The pilots misinterpreted the word "direct" and they cleared all the approaching way points from the computer. After that, the controller asked them to check back in over Tuluá (an approaching way point). Since they skipped it accidentally, they programmed the computer to head to Rozo. But the plane was re-directed to another place and crashed into the mountain. Why did this happen?
