I watch the show and for the most part enjoy it. My wife and I used to live there and miss it and our friends but now reside in Minnesota.
They seem like the pioneer family but what they don't tell you is that they live just down from Homer. They won't starv or run out of supplies, but I guess it's all about the ratings and getting a pay check.

I really enjoy watching this show and how the Kitcher family do whatever it takes to survive the harsh winters mother nature throws at them...This Documentary shows strength, family values, hard work and respect for what they have been taught to survive over the years...Wonderful show more people need to learn from this.....Thank you Discovery..
