Snowman - Recap

Sydney sleeps against Noah’s body inside the SD-6 safe house. Suddenly, Khasinau’s soldiers storm the house. Noah and Sydney get dressed and escape through a crawlspace located below the floorboards. They get away on a motorcycle just seconds before Khasinau’s soldiers shower the house in bullets.

Vaughn confirms that K-Directorate has hired an assassin, “The Snowman”, to take out Khasinau. “The Snowman” gets his nickname because of his penchant for using an ice pick to mangle his victims. Vaughn thinks if they follow the assassin, they will find Khasinau.

Sydney returns to SD-6 and receives an interesting proposition from Noah. While he was working undercover, he opened secret bank accounts and save a large sum of money. He wants to run away and leave SD-6 behind…with Sydney by his side. She refuses to go and says that she must find her mother first. However, Sloane knows about Noah’s banking and wonders if he is still loyal to SD-6.

Jack is extremely upset. He tells Sydney that the information on the date-core is completely useless and will not help track down Khasinau. However, it contains video clips of Laura Bristow. They were recorded after her car crash…

Sydney watches the video and learns that her mother is indeed still alive. Khasinau and another man question Laura Bristow -going by her real name, “Irina Derevko” –. Irina states that her purpose for coming to the US was to seduce Jack Bristow and steal information about the CIA. She would go through his briefcase and monitor his conversations and then report everything back to the KGB.

The other man on the tape is Igor Valenko. Sydney thinks he looks familiar and investigates. She finds that Valenko worked undercover at the FBI under the alias “Calder”. He was the agent who was chasing Laura Bristow during the fateful crash. He must have also faked his own death.

Sydney discovers that Valenko is currently working with a bank in Cape Town, South Africa. She thinks that he might still be connected with Khasinau. Jack outlines a mission to Sloane. He wants to send Noah and Sydney to Cape Town to recover bank records and create a trail. Sloane is very reluctant to do this because he no longer trusts Noah. In the end, Sloane agrees.

Vaughn follows a different path to find Khasinau, and ends up in Bogotá. He meets with a man who once worked with The Snowman. The man is scarred and disfigured, thanks to the assassin. He had declined to help the CIA before, but time has made him change his mind and he now offers his help.

Jack is filled with curiosity and fear but he finally gets the courage to watch the video files of his wife. Despite knowing the truth already, Jack is crushed to see her talk about her treachery.

Noah and Sydney break into the South African warehouse and hack into the computer through a wireless modem. They download all the files onto a laptop. The sophisticated security system, however, ruins their mission when it erases the hard drive’s memory. They do not realize this until after they have returned home.

At night, Will and Francie finally confront Sydney about the plane ticket to Italy. Sydney tells them that the bank has been doing business with very private and sensitive clients lately. She is not allowed to mention anything about her involvement with these companies or she will be fired. Thus, she had to lie to her friends about where she was traveling.

Sydney is finally beginning to trust Noah again until she learns that he has accepted another deep-cover assignment. Before he leaves, he asks her to run away with him again. Though thinking about this option more than before, Sydney once again declines the invitation.

After desperately trying to fix the hard drive, Marshall is able to recover low-level sector information. The records show that Valenko is in Mackay, Australia. Dixon and Sydney are immediately sent to capture him. This will bring them one step closer to Khasinau.

Vaughn gets a call from his source in Bogotá. The Snowman has been seen in Mackay. Vaughn wants to alert Sydney and warn her but he has no way to get in contact with her.

Sydney enters Valenko’s mansion and finds there are no bodyguards…only a trail of dead bodies. She goes into the kitchen and sees The Snowman standing over Valenko’s dead body. A brutal fight breaks out between Sydney and The Snowman. During the fight, Sydney is able to impale The Snowman onto his own ice pick. He lies bloody, dying on the floor. Sydney walks over and removes his mask and discovers his true identity…it’s Noah Hicks. He mumbles a sad good-bye to Sydney as he dies…
