Episode Quotes
Vaughn: This grasshopper walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey, we have a drink named after you!" And the grasshopper says--
Sydney: "You have a drink named Doug?"
Vaughn: Well, I was going to use Phil.
Sydney: (laughs) Phil is certainly no funnier than Doug.

Sydney: When my mom first came back into my life, I wanted her dead. So how the hell did I become the person who's trying to save her?

Will: Oh, I got my, uh, thirty days sobriety chip. Even though I was ever drug addict, I'm kind of proud.

Sydney: I think you loved Mom so much that when she left you, you lost your soul. You know what else I think? I think the kind of man who'd use his own daughter to frame her mother, who'd test psych experiments when she was six-years-old is the kind of man who looks at his daughter and sees his greatest mistake.
Jack: You can't honestly believe that.
Sydney: It's true, isn't it? If Mom hadn't fooled you, if you hadn't been so gullible, I never would have been born.

Cultural References
Vaughn: This grasshopper walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey, we have a drink named after you!"

A Grasshopper is a type of cocktail made of Vodka, Creme de Menth and Creme de Cacao.

Marshall: Did you ever see that movie The Fly? Do you remember that little poor red-assed baboon when he was turned inside out?

The Fly is the 1986 remake of the 1958 homonymous film. It was directed by David Cronenberg, and featured Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. The main character, Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum), is a scientist who is working on devices that allow teleportation. His first attempted of teleporting a living creature fails as the baboon he used ended up turned inside out.

Will: Why are you cleaning like this? You're acting like Howard Hughes.

Howard Robard Hughes (1905 – 1976) was a pilot, a movie producer, an hermit and one of the wealthiest people in the world. He died of renal failure on an airplane on the way to the Methodist Hospital in Houston on 5 April 1976. He also suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder which caused his to do excessive washing and cleaning, which is what Francie is doing.
