Cultural References
The title of this episode, “Home Adrone”, is a take off of the title of the 1990 Macaulay Culkin (1980-) comedy, “Home Alone”

A Japanese version of the 1892 song “Daisy Bell” composed by Harry Dacre, is heard in this episode during the flight of Hoshi's origami crane.

Apparently to compel his origami crane to fly farther, Hoshi cries “Akira, Now!”.

“Akira” is a 1988 anime film written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo based on his hit manga he wrote from 1982 until 1990.

Barry: “They found us, we're getting off the island”

Possible reference to the ABC drama, “LOST” (2004-2010) which centers around a group of survivors of an airline crash marooned on a mysterious island.

American novelist John Grisham (1955-) is mentioned in this episode along with his novels, “Pelican Brief” & “The Client”.

American novelist James Patterson (1947-) is mentioned in this episode.

The manner in which Stan is thrown through the truck window, hangs onto the hood ornament and crawls under the truck is the same as Harrison Ford's (1942-) character “Indiana Jones” from the 1981 action movie “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark”.

Episode References
The mechanic says he plays high stakes Ball-in-a-Cup.

Ball-in-a-Cup, or Cup-and-Ball, aside from being a real toy popular in Latin American countries for hundreds of years, is a joke from MacFarlane's show “Family Guy”, specifically the episode “The Fat Guy Strangler”, it had a revisit in the episode “Padre de Familia”
