American Dad!: Shallow Vows

After Stan reveals he only married Francine for her looks, she decides to let Stan see the “real” her for the ceremony.
After Stan bails on the ceremony, he realizes he still loves Francine but the only way he can be with her is to be blind.

Meanwhile, one of Roger's personas insists Hayley & Steve find the perfect gift for their parents.

When we see the shot of Stan eating and Francine cooking in the kitchen, the terror level indicator on the refrigerator has the colors, Green-Green-Yellow-Orange-Red instead of the normal Blue-Green-Yellow-Orange-Red



Cultural References
The title of this episode may be a take off of the title of the 2001 Jack Black (1969-), Gwyneth Paltrow (1972-) comedy, “Shallow Hal”.

Roger as “Jeannie Gold”: “These beauties are packed full of ox blood. Trust me, that bedroom will look like the set of a Wes Craven movie the next morning”

Wes Craven (1939-) is a Hollywood director, possibly best known for creating the character “Freddy Kruger” in the 1984 horror film, “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and its 8 sequels as well as directing the “Scream” trilogy in 1996, 1997 and 2000.

Jeannie Gold: “I even have a string quartet playing the score from A Room with a View”

Francine apparently wanted to walk down the aisle to the score from the 1985 drama, “A Room with a View”, that starred Maggie Smith (1934-), Helena Bonham Carter (1966-) & Judi Dench (1934-)
