| It's implied that Principal Lewis was/is a drug dealer nicknamed "El Lobo Negro" (The Black Wolf, in Spanish) whose rival is a man named Estaban Mortia.
| This is the first time we see Debbie since "The American Dad After School Special", and since in "Failure is Not a Factory-installed Option" Steve "see's" another girl, we can assume this episode was aired out of production order.

Iced, Iced Baby
The episode title is a play on the title of the song "Ice, Ice Baby" sung originally by Vanilla Ice.
| Roger: Then I'm taking away fifty points from Gryffindor!
Roger is referring to the Harry Potter book/movie series. In the series, there were four different houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. At the end of the year at "Hogwarts" (the school that contained the houses) one house would win an award for having the most points that they were given throughout the year depending on their conduct. Dumbledore, the "headmaster" character, often exclaimed things like "Fifty points from Gryffindor!" throughout the series.
| Francine: Oh, is Roger doing a quip?
Francine is actually referring to American Dad!. Throughout the show so far, most of Roger's jokes have been little quip's (ie falling down and knocking everything over).
| Roger: Electric word, life. It means forever, and that's a mighty long time.
Roger's line there is actually a word for word quote from Prince's 1984 album Purple Rain. That specific quote is from the song "Let's Go Crazy".
| Stan: Can it! You're the Adam Sandler of this house, and nobody wants Punch Drunk Love. Just give us Waterboy.
Punch Drunk Love and Waterboy are both films starring Adam Sandler. Punch Drunk Love was created to show Adam Sandler's dramatic side (which was met with some criticism from those who loved his crazy, childish comedic movies, such as The Waterboy and Billy Madison).
A similar joke is heard at the end when Roger says, "I'm going to stop doing The Majestic and go back to doing Ace Ventura." Both of those movies star Jim Carrey, who, like Adam Sandler, was famous for his over-the-top comedy (as seen in Ace Ventura) and criticized for trying to branch out into drama (as seen in The Majestic).

Mr. Holland and (The) Dead Poets (Society) are both movies featuring strong philosophic idea's and morals.
