Meg and Roxanne try out for American Bandstand and make the show. JJ questions his football scholarship and Helen's new friends have Jack's attention. However everything is set aside when an announcement is made about President Kennedy.

2 :01x02 - The End of the Innocence

The Pryors try to deal with Kennedy's death. Meg deals with making the cut for American Bandstand and Roxanne being jealous about it.

3 :01x03 - New Frontier

Sam deals with the negative reaction by East Catholic's track team. Helen has to make time for school and home. Meg handles Teresa's jealousy and rumors about her and Jimmy Riley being more than dance partners on Bandstand.

4 :01x04 - Pryor Knowledge

Meg has her date with Jimmy Riley that features them going to the movies and ends up having Sam walk her home. JJ gets two left feet as he takes Beth to a college mixer.

5 :01x05 - The Fighting Irish

Beth prevents JJ from meeting a Norte Dome recruiter and Jack is furious with him. Helen deals with the prospects of birth control and Meg has to accept Jimmy only likes her as a friend.

6 :01x06 - Soldier Boy

Meg appears in the American Bandstand magazine and uses her new fame to get Jay of Jay & the Americans for a party. Jack relives his old World War 2 days with his old army mates.

7 :01x07 - Cold Snap

Sam deal with a prank by the football team as JJ looks on. Luke tries to convince Meg to give Bob Dylan a try.

8 :01x08 - Black and White

JJ learns that some of the police force has offered the football team money to lose the championship game. Roxanne takes an interest in Luke and Helen has a girl's night out with Rebecca.

9 :01x09 - The Home Front

Meg goes to hear Luke perform at a black church in West Philadelphia and JJ starts dating his older female co-worker, Colleen.

10 :01x10 - Silent Night

Meg and Jimmy are voted Bandstand's favorite couple. JJ discovers that he is accepted in Notre Dame and Jack deals with a missing boy in Vietnam.

JJ discovers taht his full scholarship to Norte Dame has been rejected. Despite Helen's objections, Jack seeks financial help from an older cousin.

Helen takes Meg to a college lecture to help encourage her to get her grades up. Roxanne lives with the Pryors after getting into a fight with her mother.

13 :01x13 - The Pursuit of Happiness

JJ fights to save his relationship with Beth and an unexpected friendship between Meg and Sam is formed. Henry's nephew, Nathan, starts to work in Jack's store.

Meg is determine to convince Luke about the importance of Valentine's Day. Jack goes to the hospital after a health scare as JJ still looks for forgiveness from Beth.

JJ and Sam bond as they battle for the top spot on the school's track team. Helen is shocked to learn that her college professor has a crush on her as Meg and Luke break up.

Helen helps a classmate deal with the loss of a son and JJ continues to battle Sam for top spot on the track team.

Racial unrest cause the city to riot with Meg and Sam trapped in the new store Jack built in Northern Philly. JJ returns from college with a stunning anouncement about his future.

Meg begins to question her feelings for Sam as he defends a friend being bullied about his race. Michael Brooks announces that he is leaving Bandstand and Helen explores surgery for Will.

27 :02x02 - R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Jack has banned Meg from Bandstand after she helps Sam.Meg also struggles with her feelings for Sam. JJ continues his boot camp training as Helen continue to explore surgery for Will.

28 :02x03 - Another Saturday Night

Helen heads to New York with Nancy, Pete's new girlfriend, and Helen gets a new view on womanhood. Patty learns a harsh lesson on her first day of high school. Meg goes to her first college party as Sam discovers what Nathan does to earn money.

29 :02x04 - Crossing the Line

Helen realizes the pressure of being a working mom at the travel agency. Beth visits JJ at Camp Lejeune with interesting results. Meg does a book report on a banned book.

30 :02x05 - Life's Illusions

Meg attends a free speech rally with Drew at college. JJ is tempted to cheat as Roxanne's relationship with Lenny gets tested. Sam and his family face life with his mother, who dies of cancer.

31 :02x06 - Rescue Me

Lenny wants to take his relationship with Roxanne to another level. JJ discovers his mystery woman, Diane, is the wife of one of his superiors. Jack wants Helen to quit her job when Will's surgery is paid through the March of Dimes.

32 :02x07 - Ticket to Ride

Roxanne reveals that she is leaving school to join Lenny on his tour. Meg and Drew's first date ends in failure. JJ reveals to the family where he is stationed for the next six months. Henry seeks the money that is still due to his deceased wife.

33 :02x08 - Change a Comin'

Meg and Drew go on a double date to Lenny's concert as JJ deals with Beth and Vietnam. Pete's drinking is pusing Alicia away as Sam takes an interest in Malcolm X.

34 :02x09 - The Long Goodbye

JJ and Beth celebrate thier engagement as thier mothers fight over everything. JJ tells Meg about his true feeling sbout her relationship with Drew. Roxanne is started to lose interest in the tour, but not Lenny.

Jack and Henry discover the store has been robbed. Sam fights with the choice between Yale and Howard University. JJ meets Jimmy Riley, Meg's former dance partner inteh hospital in Veitnam.

36 :02x11 - Beyond the Wire

When Drew comes over for dinner, Jack hates him. JJ has his first gun fight in Veitnam and Patty seeks her first bra.

37 :02x12 - Real-to-Reel

JJ befriends a family in Veitnam, whose village is destroyed. The Pryors make a care package for JJ along with a audio reel.. Meg exposes Drew's secrets about cheating on her and breaks up with him. Henry is encourage by the Muslims to open his own store.

38 :02x13 - To Tell the Truth

Bandstand has a father & daughter dance and Meg has to ask her father to attend. Patty's crush on Luke ends when she sees Roxanne and Luke kissing.

39 :02x14 - Old Enough to Fight

JJ gets to see Nancy Sinatra perform in Nam to help deal with the death of an enemy soldier. Will gets apaper route adn Henry's quest for a business hits a snag.

40 :02x15 - Shoot the Moon

Meg is upset to discover Roxanne and Luke dating each other. Pete gets cold feet at his wedding. Sam and Angela dislike Henry's new girlfriend.

41 :02x16 - Can't Hold On

Meg joins WFIL newsroom and dislikes what she sees of the war. Henry adn Jack are at odds as equal partners of the store.

42 :02x17 - Chasing the Past

JJ learns the fate of one of his friends's brother as Patty crashes the family car. Beth reveal her pregancy to her parents.

43 :02x18 - Stewart's Charge

Nathan is drafted and Sam seeks Meg's help in getting Drew to talk to him. Jack considers his poltical future with Sister Grace. Beth decides her and the baby's futre.

44 :02x19 - No Way Out

Sam and Meg get caught up in the war movement and take a stand that changes their futires. JJ and his squad get caught in a crossfire without backup.

45 :03x01 - Long Shots and Short Skirts

The families react to Meg and Sam having to go to court after being arrested. Meg's arrest becomes public knowledge and Jack's election is in trouble. While at school Roxanne and Meg fight the school dress code. JJ learns that his squad is dead.

46 :03x02 - Charade

The Pryors new neighbors consist of Shelly Pierce, former Playboy Bunny, and her son Chris. Meg uses the school play to protest the war. Sam gets recruit to play basketball at Penn and meets a new girlfriend. Patty enters the Campbell Soup Essay contest.

47 :03x03 - Leaders of the Pack

Meg makes a deal with Chris to get him in the school play. Jack faces different groups as he fights for the city council election. Beth fears for JJ's life after meeting a pregnant woman, who lose her husband. Sam is feeling inferior to Melanie's upscale friends.

48 :03x04 - Surround Me

Chris's bad influence is obvious in Meg's new behavior. Jack is faced with the minority vote to counter dirty tactics.

49 :03x05 - So Long, Farewell

Father Cassidy discourages Meg's plans to add an anti-Vietnam aspect to the play. Melanie becomes increasingly jealous of Sam and Meg's friendship. Meg decides to do the play as she wrote it.

50 :03x06 - Clear and Present Danger

Jack and Helen celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary by going out of town. Nathan begins to serve the rest of his jail time at a VA hospital and gains a respect for the veterans. JJ and his squad are captured and must figure out a way to escape.

51 :03x07 - What Dreams May Come

Jack goes to Washington DC to learn about JJ's fate and discovers Meg is there as well at an anti war rally. Sam, ashamed of his family, goes to Melanie's Thanksgiving dinner alone.

52 :03x08 - One in a Million

During a city wide blackout Beth gives birth to her son unaware that JJ is fighting to get back to the base as a Frenchman helps him.

53 :03x09 - Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Nathan is left a gift by a war veteran from the VA hospital. Sam finally invites Melanie to meet his family. The Pryors get an unexpected Christmas gift as JJ comes home.

54 :03x10 - Home Again

JJ is still haunted by the war and finally sets a date for his wedding with Beth. Pete thinks Chris started a fire at the recruitment center and Chris wants delivers an ultimation to Meg.

55 :03x11 - Truth Be Told

Meg's special night with Chris is ruined in the morning. JJ and Beth refuse to have a Catholic wedding as Helen wants. Henry gets a new project to impress his new lady friend.

56 :03x12 - For Richer, For Poorer

JJ learns that plans for his house are gone thanks to the war and learns that his mother is against the war. Chris leaves town and Meg.

57 :03x13 - Starting Over

It's the Senior Prom and Patty is invited to prom which she rubs in Meg's face but is later upset when her date asks somebody else. Roxanne works to convince Luke to shave his beard off, while Meg prepares to face the prom on her own. JJ comes to her rescue after having a fight with Beth, that begins when JJ confesses his gamble that he lost. While at prom, JJ is offered a job at the high school. Meanwhile, Mr. Pryor feels the pressure from his bribers, and struggles to make a choice, which effects his family more than he knows.

58 :03x14 - The Commencement

Meg is torned for her feelings for Sam and the fact that they can never be together. Patty wins the essay contest and no one believes her as it is listed under another name.

59 :03x15 - California Dreamin'

Meg & Roxanne go to Hollywood for a special "American Bandstand" episode. While the girls are there, they meet up with Barbara Eden a.k.a. "Jeannie". J.J. goes for an interview with an Engineering company in the hopes of following his dream of becoming an Astronaut. Meanwhile, Sam realizes the he has more in common with Nathan's date then Nathan does and Pete & Shelley decide to have an "open relationship" where they can see each other and other people. Jack decides to tell a reporter his reasons for leaving City Council.

60 :03x16 - No Satisfaction

With Ted, Jack's brother in the hospital he faces a tough decision to pull him of the respirator that is keeping him alive. Meg and Roxanne are excited for The Rolling Stones concert but are surprised to find where their seats are. Patty wants to become cool after being teased by some students at summer school about being a nerd. She receives a makeover from Meg and Roxanne and goes on bandstand but ultimately decides she likes who she is.

61 :03x17 - It's My Life

When Chris returns, Meg finds out that he has been drafted for the war and is going to Berkeley to avoid it. Meg must decide between being with Chris or being with her family but her decision is made even harder when Jack threatens to disown her if she leaves. Roxanne begins to cut hair at the Vinyl Crocodile much to Luke's dismay. JJ begins to feel overwhelmed at work when he volunteers to help on a project. Nathan is given a second chance by Mr. Pryor when he allows Nathan to do deliveries again. Helen decides to accompany a mother to pick up her son's coffin.
