After the cuts of 150 contestants that were sent home packing, the challenge is harder then ever. The challenge tonight is that the hopefuls are going to have to do groups. This is the most intense time of the week and everything explodes on stage and fizzles as well. It is Group Round and it is tough for the remaining contestants. The contestants arrive and they have to form into groups to form something that is going to work for them. Some have already formed them knowing the process. However, things get changed and they have to have a mixture of contestants from other days. They scramble to get to their groups and there are several who get together right away while others struggle.

The search continues and Tiffany Rios tries to find a group, but because of her statement of claiming to be the best, no one wants to sing with her. She manages to take a person from a group and convince her to sing with her. However, they are still missing a group member. They eventually get the permission to have a duet. Justin McCreedy needs a group, but everyone is Pop and don’t want the country boy in their group. He finally gets with a group and they start to practice.

The contestants practice with their groups and one group has Ashley Sullivan thinking that it is too much. She has a hard time and tells that she wants to go home. She talks to the producer and he tells her to take a moment. She talks with her boyfriend and then eventually comes back. Fearful that the group won’t take her back, Ashley doesn’t have anything to worry about because they welcome her back in. Other groups gather together to make their practice time worth something and the group with their moms helping out with the harmony gets one group jealous that they are getting coached.

However, Tiffany is off key and they don’t get their chance to move on to the next round and get sent home packing. Tiffany tries to fight for her spot, but Jessica tells that it is over with.

The next group is missing their final member, Kevin Campos, and they go out to look for him. Steven entertains the crowd with a drum solo. Jovany Barreto, Kevin Campos, Jorge Gabriel, and Karen Rodriguez go on stage and sing “Just the Way You Are” and none of them have the talent to impress the judges. However Jovany and Karen are through to survive the next round of auditions.

The next group that include Lauren, the Steven Tyler fan, have Steven sit in the chair. Lauren’s group are good, but it is not enough to impress the judges 100%. The other group members are not as strong to get the vote of the judges despite their creative idea to include Steven, Lauren is the only one through.

Colton Dixon, Matt Dillard showcase their group and Colton is good, but Matt forgets his words and it horrible. Colton gets through to the next round and the rest have to go home because of their lack of flare. Among those also Emily Anne Reed, Adrian Beesley, Courtney Penry, and Aaron Gutierrez have to leave to cheer on their favorites elsewhere.

Singing “Forget You”, Rob doesn’t even try to remember the words and is horrible. All three singers leave the judges with a lot to think about. Steven tells that this is not good. Rob gets sent home and Chelsee and Jacqueline get through. This concludes Group Week and the contestants move on to sing individually.
