First Results Show and Finalists Announced - Recap

It is the results time after all 24 contestants have performed and they show a little recap of all the singers. They had one shot and now it is in the hands of the voting from America whether or not they are going to be able to get through or not. The judges come out and take their seats. Ryan comes out and tells the audience that they are going to be cutting more from the competition this time than they have ever in all of American Idol. The Top 24 come out and take their seats. The judges tell them that they are going to pick people to sing for their wild card picks after America has chosen. Steven says that he can’t say who was better. Jennifer says that it was pretty close.

They recap Tuesday Night’s performance and then asks the guys how they think that they did and Stefano says that it is hard for them because they know that half of them are going to be going home and it is hard. They show a clip of the guys talking about their experiences on American Idol and they are having fun and enjoying their time. However, now it is result time.

Scotty and Robbie go out in front and Ryan asks Scotty what he likes about the judges and he says that he is grateful for the chance. Jennifer tells Scotty that he has what it takes. Ryan goes to Robbie and asks what he would have done and Robbie says that he did his best. Randy says that Robbie didn’t do the best, but is still a really good singer. Scotty gets put into the Top 10. He is all smiles. Robbie has not made the Top 10, but could get a wildcard spot.

Clint, Jordon, and Jovany come out. Ryan goes to Clint first and Randy says that Clint is way beyond any karaoke singer and Clint is starting to lose it on stage. Jordon says that he would have changed the song choice. Jovany says that he is happy to be there. The results say that Clint and Jordon are not in America’s Top 10. Jovany has not made it in the Top 10 either.

They switch tables and go to the ladies and recap their performances of the night. Ryan asks Ashthon if they are close as well and she says that all the girls have an impact and it is going to be emotional. They talk about their time and their experiences on American Idol they tell that they have more confidence from the judges comments. First up are Pia and Lauren come out on the stage and Ryan goes to Pia first. She says that it means everything to her and compliments Lauren. The votes put Lauren into the Top 10. Pia also gets put into the Top 10 as well.

Next up Tate-Nesa and Julie come up and asks Julie what she was feeling and Julie says that she was feeling sad because she is sorry that she let down the fans. Tate-Nesa is not in the Top 10. Julie is also not in the Top 10. However, they will have the chance for the wildcard pick.

After the break, Kendra, Ashthon and Karen come out Kendra says that she feels that she got some good comments. Ashthon says that anything good from them is good. Ashthon is not in the Top 10. Karen makes it in the Top 10 and Kendra doesn’t.

Tim, Casey and Jacob come up and Casey says that he feels sexy after hearing Jennifer calling him sexy. Ryan asks Steven what Tim could have performed and he says that some John Mayre. Jacob makes it in the Top 10. Casey makes it into the Top 10 as well. Tim doesn’t.

Nayema, Thia, and Lauren come out and Thia says that it was unbelievable to hear that Randy compared her voice with Michael Jackson’s. Nayema is not in the Top 10 and either is Lauren. Thia makes it into the Top 10.

Brett and Paul come out in front and Brett is a hugger. Brett says that he wants this really bad and says that he is numb. The person going into the Top 10 is Paul.

Haley and Rachel go to the center of the stage and there is one more spot available for the Top 10 for the girls. Randy says that Haley did alright. The person in the Top 10 is Haley.

Stefano and James come out and one more spot is available. James makes it into the Top 10 and Stefano doesn’t. The Top 10 are: Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez, Pia Toscano, Jacob Lusk, Scott McCreery, and Paul McDonald.

Now for the wildcard competition. 3 Boys and 3 Girls are in the running for the slots in the competition. Ashthon is first to sing her song. “And I’m Telling You”. She belts it out for her life. Steven says that she brought it. Jennifer says that she felt her passion. Randy still loves the attitude.

Next up is Stefano. He is going to be singing “I Need You Now”. He sings with emotion in his voice and shows that he wants to stay. He tries to leave, but Ryan calls him back. Randy says that he did the song justice. Jennifer says that he did very good. Steven says that he did it and it was great.

Kendra gets her chance and she sings “Georgia On My Mind”. She has some swagger and hits the high note at the end and gets a standing ovation. Randy says that it started low and she rocked it in the end.

Next up is Jovany. He is singing a Spanish song and it is lovely. Jennifer says that he did a good job and did all he could do.

Naima gets the chance. It is the end of the road for Julie, Lauren, Tate-Nesa and Rachel. Naima is singing “For All We Know”. She sings with a lot of emotion in her voice and cries on stage. Steven says that she brought it to him.

The last shot is for Robbie. It is the end of the road for Brett, Tim, Clint and Jordon. Brett gives all the judges hugs goodbye. Robbie is going to sing “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word”. He is good and receives a standing ovation. Randy says that it was really nice and tender.

All the Wildcard contenders come out and the judges work on the results. They need more time so they show the new music video of Jennifer Lopez and she definitely still has it as a performer. After the break the last spots go to: Ashthon Jones, Stefano Langone and Naima Adedapo. So the Top 13 are: Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez, Pia Toscano, Jacob Lusk, Scott McCreery, Paul McDonald, Ashthon Jones, Stefano Langone and Naima Adedapo.
