1 Voted Off - Recap

Tonight the votes are in and Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Thia Megia, Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez, Pia Toscano, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Stefano Langone and Naima Adedapo are all in danger of going home tonight. The show starts with the judges coming in and Ryan says that Lee DeWyze is going to perform tonight as well as The Black Eyed Peas. He thanks the audience for helping with the support for Japan and the judges have their work cut out. The Top 12 perform and sing “Born this Way/Born to be Wild”.

After a break, they show a clip of the Top 12 going on a tour of the Ford Music video and they had a lot of fun. Ryan says that there have been 250 Million downloads that have been purchased and everyone gets a CD that is in the audience tonight. They show a clip of the finalists talking about what inspires them and each contestant talks about how they are inspired.

The eliminations start and they have a moment of Irish Pride. Ryan says that their lighting guy is Irish. He asks for Jacob, Lauren and Casey to come down for the results and Ryan asks what the contestants could do to avoid pitch problems and Randy says that they need to know what the note is first. They play with them a bit, but all of them are safe.

Haley and Paul come down for their results and Haley tells that she wants to find the right song to show her strengths. Haley is in the bottom three and Paul is safe.

Lee DeWyze performs and it is good. Ryan talks to him and they talk about his tour. Lee tells the contestants and says that they are fine no matter what happens because it is the music that they love.

More results and Scotty, Pia, and James come down and Ryan says that Scotty is safe. Pia is safe as well. James is also safe.

Stefano and Naima come down and Ryan asks Stefano how he is going to connect and he says that he is going to give them more eye contact. He asks Naima asks what she is going to do to not be pitchy and she says that she is going to work at it. Naima is in the bottom three and Stefano is safe.

Karen and Thia come down and Ryan asks Jennifer what she wants to see from Karen. She says that Karen needs to show off her own voice. Thia says that she can do so much better if she is put through. Thia is safe and Karen is in the bottom three.

The Black Eyed Peas perform and it is great as always. They prove what it takes to be a recording artist in today’s industry. They tell that the song is dedicated to the people in Japan.

Karen, Naima, and Haley come out and Naima gets sent back to safety. Karen is in danger of leaving is Karen. She is going to have to sing her “save song” and she is going to be singing “Hero”. Ryan asks what it feels like and Karen says that she could do so much better. She says that she has done her best and cries. The judges talk and Randy says that they are not going to be saving her tonight.
