Finalists Compete - Recap

The final three: Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart, are battling it out tonight for the Finale. There are going to be three rounds tonight. Round one: the Contestants pick the song, Round Two: Jimmy Iovine picks them and Round Three: the Judges choice. Beyonce is helping the contestants this week with getting their pitch right and mentoring them as well.

Round One kicks off with Scotty singing “Amazed” by Lonestar. Beyonce talks with him and says that he has a great voice and that the low register is his great point. Scotty tells that he is slowly changing it up. He comes out and sings a good song and afterward, Steven says that he keeps getting better and better. Jennifer says that he has grown since the beginning and he is a natural performer. Randy says that it was a great song choice and he knows where his lane is and says that he is in it to win it.

Lauren is next and she is going to sing “Wild One” by Faith Hill. Beyonce talks to her and says that she loves that she is a natural at singing. She helps by telling her to psych herself out before going on stage. She comes out and has fun on stage. Afterward, Jennifer says that she attacked the song and that it was very good. Randy says that he loves when she loves the song and has a fun time. Steven says that he loved how she was singing and says that she is ready for this.

Haley sings next and she has picked “What Is and What It Should Be” by Led Zeppelin. Beyonce talks to her and says that she loves the passion that she has in her voice and tells Haley that she is going to do a great job with the song. She comes out and has her father on guitar. However, she slips on stage and gets back up. The song is good though. Afterward, Randy and Steven give her a standing ovation. Randy says that he loved the fact that she is fearless and it was one of her best performances. Steven asks if she fell for him and says that it was superb. Jennifer says that everyone falls and says that it was a good round for her. She blames it on the shoes.

Round Two kicks off with Scotty singing “Are You Going To Kiss Me Or Not” by Thompson Square. He comes out and sings it with his passion in his voice. Steven says that he was living that one and sang it well. Jennifer says that there were so many parts that she loved about it and asks him to shave his hair like he had at the beginning. Randy says that it was in his range and Randy says that he was like he was at a concert. Scotty says that he is down with shaving his head.

Lauren sings next and she is singing “If I Die Young” by Perry. She comes out and shows that she has what it takes to make it all the way. Jennifer says that she has the most beautiful natural tone. She says that she got caught up in the moment and says that she felt it. Randy says that she realized her mistake and says that that was a good song choice. Steven says he loved it and she nailed it again.

Haley sings for the end of Round Two and she is singing “Rhiannon” By Fleetwood Mac. She comes out and it is great. Randy says that she is funny and was wondering when the song was going to get over. He says that she did a great job with it. Steven says that she sang it wonderfully and it was great. Jennifer says that it was a good performance and a good contrast. After a break, they premiere the video “Run the World Girls” by Beyonce.

Round Three kicks off with Scotty going to sing “She Believes In Me” by Kenny Rogers. He comes out and shows that softer side of Scotty. Afterward, Steven says that he put it over the top for him. Jennifer says that he showed the and it was great. Randy says that it was a new song for him, but he nailed it.

Next is Lauren “I Hope You Dance” by Leanne Womack. She comes out and it is amazing. Jennifer says that she gave her “goosies” and she won that round for her. Randy says that it was a great song and loved the dress and sang it great. Steven says that she walked out her like she owned the Grand Ole Opery.

Last up for the evening is Haley. She is singing “You Oughta Know” from Alanis Morrisette. She sings it and afterward, Randy says that America has their work cut out for them. Steven says that it was so perfect. Jennifer says that she did a good job and the chorus was great. That is it for the performances and tomorrow is the results!
