The auditions continue and this time they are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is the first time they are in the city of champions. Randy, Steven and Jennifer get ready to hear the acts as they take their seats.

First up is Heejun Han. He is going to sing “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” by Michael Bolton. Afterward, Steven says that he sings great. Jennifer says that she was shocked. Randy says that he has a really good voice and that he has good control. Heejun is shocked that they think that he is good. He thanks them and his family celebrates when he comes out.

Reed Grimm is next and he says that he and his family have been performing for many years. He says that he is going to sing the Family Matters Theme Song. He jazzed it up and sings rather well. They tell him that they loved how he sang that and it is clear that he has been in the spotlight for a while. Randy and everyone say yes to him to go to Hollywood.

This sets off a montage of great acts that include: Aaron Marcellus, Chase Likens and several others. The judges are impressed and are loving this city and all the talent that has come in front of them so far.

Next up is Patricia Bell and Samantha Novacek. Patricia is a planker and Samantha is the singer. They go in to see the judges and Patricia goes into the planking position. Samantha sings and she is good. Jennifer says that the voice was good. Steven says that he loved the sound and Randy says that it was good. Samantha gets her ticket.

Up next is Creighton Fraker and he says that he had a 9 hour bus ride to get there and that he wrote a song on his way there. He starts singing and impresses them. Steven says that he wants to hear another song and does a great job. They tell him that he was amazing and that he is unique. They vote him through to the next round.

Next up is Eben Franckewitz and he says that he has been practicing and has traveled far from it. He says that his parents have supported him and he tells him that it is a privilege to be there. He goes up to the judges and sings “Aint No Sunshine”. Jennifer says that he was born to do this and Steven agrees. Randy says that he has a natural gift. They give him his golden ticket.

Travis Orlando is up and he is a repeat contestant from last year. He says that he is singing “Isn’t She Lovely”. He is good, but Jennifer says that he is singing it, but it isn’t good enough. Travis tells them that his mother left his family and that he dropped out of school. Randy says that he is worth another shot. Jennifer says that he is going to keep growing. Steven says that he needs to jump out of his shell.

Day two begins and Jennifer is running late so Steven and Randy put on a little show. The next contestant is Erika Van Pelt. “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” by Carol King. She is good and afterward, Randy says that he loves her tone. Jennifer says that the voice matches her. They vote with an easy yes.

Next up is Shane Bruce. He is a coal miner and says that his real passion is singing. He sings “Hallelujah”. At the end, he isn’t that happy with the audition. Steven says that he might be better with it being underground. They all agree that he should work on his voice and come back next year. He gets consoled by his family when he comes out.

Last up is for the night is Hallie Day. She says that she just got married 6 months ago. She says that music and her husband saved her life. She says that she tried to kill herself. She sings “I Will Survive”. They have her sing something else because he likes watching her while she sings. Jennifer says that she has a gift. They vote her through to Hollywood with no problem at all. That’s all for Pittsburgh and in total 38 golden tickets were handed out. Next up is San Diego!
