He performs and it seems that his nerves are getting the best of him, but halfway through the song, he gets into it and improves. Sharon tells that he had a great tone to his voice but his performance is a little cheesy because of his age. Being 27 years old and singing an old fashioned type of style of music, it just comes off old-fashioned. Howie tells that Paul was not showing the skill that his voice has and tells that each singer has their own sound but can’t place his yet. Pierce tells that he likes cheese but that Paul needed to relax more and make it his own.

Howie tells that he doesn’t know what he is and where his talent really is because it was everywhere. He doesn’t know if he is a gymnast, juggler, or stunt man. Nick tries to defend his performance and Pierce tells that it was simply blah and that without the fire, he has nothing.

Next up is dance group RNG and they are excited to be in the quarter-finals and that they are excited. But in rehearsal, they are having trouble with a flip with one of the girls. The show must go on however and Nathaniel enters and sings “Lips of an Angel”. His voice struggles through the song but it is not that bad to listen to and he showcases his voice well. Howie sports a surgical mask and tells that the reason is that Nathanial is sick. Howie jokes with Nathaniel and tells that Justin Beiber wants his hairstyle back. Nathaniel gets him back by telling that Mr. Clean called and wants his hairstyle back. Howie tells that he did an amazing job. Pierce tells that he didn’t have the best vocals but that it is starting to improve with every performance.
