HOLLYWOOD Part 5, 5th 12 of Top 60 perform - You Tube contestants - Recap
It is the best of the best from YouTube that are going to be performing for a YouTube special. Calling it “The YouTube Special”, Nick Cannon comes out and tells that voters picked 1 while the other 11 were picked by the judges. Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and Howie Mandel come out and they all get ready for the show. Piers tells that he is half excited and half terrified because they have not seen the acts in person. Sharon agrees with him and tells that it is going to be very interesting to see.
First up area a bunch of college kids called “PLUtonic” that sing Acapella music. They enter the stage and sing a hip hop song all Acapella and it is really interesting. Piers tells that they are geeks and tells that they are very cheesy but it is funny, well done and he liked it. Sharon tells that the performance was really good but Sharon tells that she hates Acapella groups but tells that they are really talented. Howie tells that they are talented and geeky. He tells that people would want to go see the group in Vegas.
Next after the break, is jump rope extraordinaire Dylan Plummer. He enters the stage and shows his talent with the jump rope. Sharon tells that he has very quick feet and that he did very well. Howie tells that it was very technical but tells that he needs to be a little bit more practice at it. He tells that he missed a few steps and it was not polished well enough. Piers tells that he was expecting to buzz out Dylan right away but he was impressed with his performance and the fact that he only made a few mistakes.
After the commercial break, “Pup” is up and there are concerns on whether or not Pup is going to perform or not. The dog starts to play the accordion and then the strap breaks and the owner starts to play solo. The error of the strap caused the dog to stop playing. Pierce buzzes and afterward tells that the dog played for a good 10 seconds and then after that it was over. Howie tells that it was funny but that the performance wasn’t good. Sharon tells that “Pup” should have another chance due to malfunctions.
Next is Cam Hodges is up to sing and he sings well. Hitting notes and missing some, Piers tells that he is not the best performer but tells that there were parts in the song that were perfect and that he did himself proud. Sharon tells that he did an amazing job playing the guitar and that it was really good. Howie tells that he showcased his talent well and that there were pitch problems throughout the song but it was confident.
Ryan Rodriguez is up and he is a dancer that is used to small spaces and wants to take it to the stage. Piers buzzes him right away. Sharon asks if he has been on the stage before and Piers interrupts Sharon and she tells that he needs to be quiet. Howie tells that he really doesn’t know what he just saw and that the YouTube video was better and that he was good but doesn’t know. Piers tells that he is not ready for the big stage and that when it was on YouTube, it was more crazy and more entertaining.
Auto mechanic Austin Anderson is up and he is a comedian that is very sure that his comedy will impress the judges and audience. Coming out, he does a sketch about Facebook. Piers buzzes him. At the end of the performance, Howie tells that Austin simply has the wrong material and that not everyone has facebook and that it was not relateable. Sharon agrees with Howie and Piers tells that he just wasn’t funny at all.
Next up is hip hop dancer, Booker Forte and he has big dreams and he enters on stage and dances around and shows that he has talent and Piers buzzes him out. Piers tells that it wasn’t enough and that he has seen it all before and better. Sharon tells that she has seen all the dance moves already and that it wasn’t special enough. Howie tells that he agrees and tells that they are looking for people who are going to explode with talent. He tells that Booker didn’t step it up and kept the performance simple instead of exciting and exciting is what they are looking for.
“Pizza Patt” is up now and he is going to bring it to the next level with fire. He begins and Piers buzzes him out. Sharon tells after the performance that he has brought a new form of juggling to the stage and that it was interesting to watch. Piers tells that it was just a grown man throwing pizza dough in the air and that it wasn’t talented enough. Howie tells that they have seen it in pizza shops everywhere and that it could be dangerous and you can get a “yeast infection”. Sharon laughs when he says this.
Kristina Young is next and she is a singer. She enters the stage and sings a Carrie Underwood song. She feels that she did a great job but Howie tells that she moved it up since her YouTube video but thought it was not good enough. Piers tells that she doesn’t compare to the other singers in the competition and she doesn’t have a chance to win. Sharon tells that she has a loud voice but tells that it is hard and can’t really say if it was the best song choice or not for her voice.
Next up is piano player “Maestro Alexander Bui”. Entering the stage, he begins playing the piano and it is a very talented classical piece. Sharon is a little too bored and buzzes. They go to Sharon and she tells that it was very talented talent but she was bored. Howie tells that it was interesting to see the hands move that fast and that it was interesting to watch. Piers tells that he is a natural pianist and that for him to ignore what Sharon says.
After the break, magician Dan Sperry is up and he takes his magic to a different level and is really entertaining. He takes a mint and chews it and then somehow gets a piece of dental floss in his neck and pulls out a whole mint. He tosses the dental floss toward Howie and Howie jumps up and runs over to Piers. Sharon can’t control herself and laughs hysterically. After things settle, Howie tells that Dan is very talented. Piers tells that he loved it and Sharon is still laughing hysterically to be able to judge.
The final person to perform is 10 year old opera singer Jackie Evancho. She comes on stage and it sounds as if she is a 30 year old experienced opera singer. She amazes the audience and judges and receives the only standing ovation of the night. Because she was the winner of the YouTube vote first, she gets to go to Universal Studios Florida and see the new Harry Potter world. The performers are done and now it is up to the decision of America of who will go through to the semi-finals and joint the rest of the performers and who won’t.
