Semi Finals Part 2 of 2 - 2nd 12 of Top 24 perform - Recap

The second 12 group of Semi-Finalists are performing tonight. With a line-up of: Alice Tan Ridley, Haspop, Maestro Alexander Bui, Michael Lipari & Ashleigh Dejon, Michael Grasso, Debra Romer, Studio One Young Beast Society, Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, Nathaniel Kenyon, Murray, Jackie Evancho, and Fighting Gravity, it is going to be a very interesting night of talent. Nick Cannon enters and talks about the $1 Million prize and the showcase show in Las Vegas. The judges enter in their best and they kick it off the performances.

The first up is Alice Tan Ridley and Sharon tells that Alice is a natural performer and she will sing her heart out. She sings and showcases her powerful voice and has the attitude of a seasoned performer. After her performance, she receives a standing ovation and Piers tells that she looks glamorous and tells that it is a big year for the singers. He tells that it was a strong performance. Sharon tells that it was amazing and tells that she had goosebumps and tells that she looks fabulous. Howie tells that she has touched the hearts of a lot of people and that tells that hopefully she will be able to go farther.

Next up is Haspop and Sharon tells that he needs to be able to give a show stopper. He starts doing his thing and has incorporated a video in the mix. Piers buzzes him. At the end, Sharon tells that she respected the sophisticated performance but it didn’t work for her personally. Howie tells that he disagrees and tells that the dancers don’t have his vision but tells people to vote. Piers tells that he didn’t get his performance and it was pretty weird. Haspop tells that he is grateful to perform and hopes that he is going to be able to go through.

Maestro Alexander Bui is up and he tells that he is dedicated. Piers tells that he loves this performer and tells that he is going to have to pick a piece everyone has heard of before or he is going to go through further. He plays a fast beat song and Howie buzzes. At the end, Howie tells that it doesn’t compare to the other talent that is in the competition. Piers calls Howie a “Cultural Ignoramus” and tells that it was an amazing piece. Sharon tells that she enjoyed it this time and that he is very talented.

After the break Michael Lipari and Ashleigh Dejon are up and they want to win the judges hearts this time. They tell a story of love with their dancing and aerial-acrobatic act and they slow things down. Piers tells that he loved the act and that they don’t always need to stop the hearts of people. Sharon tells that she loved that they slowed things down. Howie tells that it is a scary thing no matter what and that it was great.

Michael Grasso is up and he tells that he has had a lot of roadblocks in his life. Sharon tells that Michael is a real contender. He begins and he is really the showman as he lifts a cage with a woman inside and makes her disappear. Then he changes it up and changes positions with his assistant and sneaks up to Sharon and gives her a rose. Sharon tells that it was sensational. Howie tells that he is a fan of magic and that it was Wow and sensational. Piers tells that he is an interesting one and slowly but surely he has got things together. He tells that he is becoming a world class magic act.

Debra Romer is next and Piers tells that she has her innocence and she can’t lose that. She performs without her guitar and sings “To Make You Feel My Love”. Her voice is showcased great and she has a lot of emotional in her voice. Howie tells that it was really nice but that it wasn’t up to par with everyone. Piers tells that he knows a little bit about what Howie says and that he is not sure if that was Debra’s best performance. Sharon tells lyrically, the song was amazing but as far as a competition song, it was not a good choice. Debra tells that in effect, she has already won and that she could book shows and that people want to pay her to sing.

Studio One Young Beast Society is up to perform and Piers tells that they are good dancers and that they have to be the best. They enter the stage and they have synchronized dancing and they show that they have what it take to be in the Semi-Finals. Piers tells that they show that they are dedicated and that it is their night. Sharon tells that she loves how they are mixing their dancing with gymnastics and Howie tells that they are phenomenal and that it was exciting. They tell that they put every minute into their routine.

Next is Jeremy Vanschoonhoven and he had a fall during rehearsals and he was not sure if he was going to be able to perform. He went to the hospital and is back. He begins and you can tell that he is a little hesitant and he slips off his bike a couple of times at the beginning. But when it came to the high points, he does good. He receives a standing ovation and Sharon tells that that he is crazy and has more respect from her. Howie tells that Sharon is hosting a telethon for Jeremy. Piers tells that he has a lot of determination and that it was really entertaining.

After the break, Nathaniel Kenyon is up and Piers tells that he could be a favorite if he could sing and be the heartthrob. Singing without his guitar, he sings and Piers buzzes him. Howie tells that the audience likes him and tells that his mic technique is weird and that they will see. Piers tells that he had too many missed notes to make it though. Sharon tells that he has come a long way and that the young girls are going to love him.

Murray is up to perform and Howie tells that there are two magicians and Murray has to be the best if he wants to get through. He opens with the history of his family and decides that he is going to make a train disappear. He does it and after the performance, Piers tells that the presentation wasn’t that good and that he was kind of bored. He tells Murray that Michael Grasso did better in terms of showmanship. Howie agrees with Piers and says that it needed to be amazing and that it wasn’t. Sharon tells that he did a good job with it and is like a young David Copperfield.

Jackie Evancho is up singing “Time to Say Goodbye”, she is too much for words and is amazing. Sharon tells that she is going to have many great adventures all around the world and she tells that she is an amazing little girl. Howie tells that he has never heard something like this and he is happy to witness it. Piers tells that he has been a judge for 5 years and there have been 4-5 acts that could be stars but she is a super-star. She tells that she gets nervous that she doesn’t mess up and hopes that her dream comes true.

The last act to perform is “Fighting Gravity” Sharon tells that everything needs to be more if they are going to show the best performance. They perform and are defiantly new and innovative. They receive a standing ovation and Howie tells that they are a great act and they are the act to follow Jackie and that they did an amazing job. Piers tells that they were really close to getting buzzed for throwing the ball out in the audience and tells that they were amazing at what they did. They tells that they are grounded if they get sent home. The performances are over and now is the time for the audience to vote and put through the favorites.
