Houston auditions - Recap

The auditions continue on America’s Got Talent and tonight they are in Houston, Texas. The hopeful mean business and the judges arrive for another week and this time he arrives in a chicken float. They get settled into the their seats and get ready for the talent that the city has to offers.

First up for the night is “The Rhinestone Ropers”, a roping variety show. They come out and through knives and shoot guns at targets. It is entertaining and Howie gives them a standing ovation. He asks how many partners he has gone through. Piers says that it was entertaining. Sharon says that it is raw entertainment and they give them a pass to the next round in Vegas.

This sets off a montage of good acts that get their passes to Vegas that include a singing duo, a juggler that is in the dark, and a sexy dance group. They are all entertaining and get their pass to go to the next round with ease.

Next up is Daniel Joseph Baker, a singer/piano player. He comes out and he is very flamboyant. He sings his rendition of “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga. It is good and Sharon says that it was great fun and she says that she loves him. Howie says that there is a lot character. Piers says that he is a showman and liked it. They give him a ticket to the next round.

Next up is Jay Maynard. He calls himself “The Tron Guy”. He comes out on stage and starts talking about him being the Tron Guy. Sharon buzzes right away and Howie says for them to give him a chance. He starts over and the crowd boos him and Piers buzzes. Howie says for Jay to start over and buzzes him after he repeats the same sentence for the fourth time. They vote and it is a no of course.

The next act is “Sandou Trio Russian Bar”, an acrobatic group. The girl doing the acrobatic part of it impresses with flips and twirls in the air and landing on the bar. They receive a standing ovation by the audience and judges. Sharon says that she can’t wait to see more. Howie says that that was really great. Piers says that he can see this in Vegas and says that is the highest risk talents and it was amazing. They get through to the next round.

Next there is a montage of horrible acts such as "Status B.L.A.K.” They get on the stage and they are horrible singers and dancers. One of the dancers does a flip and falls and they get rejected. An impressionist is horrible as well and an Asian James Brown gets rejected.

Next up is Dani Shea. She walks on stage and looks EXACTLY like Justin Beiber. She tells that he looks like her and sings a parody to “Baby” telling who she is. Howie says that she was amazing. Piers says that she is very talented. Sharon says that she is fabulous. They all say yes to Dani and she gets through to Vegas.

Tanner Edwards, a six-year-old dancer is next on stage and he says that he is going to dance. He starts dancing and it is good. Howie gives him a standing ovation. Pies says that it was great. Sharon says that he is quiet professional and quite the act. Tanner gets through to the next round and on his way to Vegas. Nick comes out and dances with him

Last up for the night is Darren Taylor and he is going to be jumping from 26 ft into a children’s pool. They get the stage set up and everyone is on the edge of their seats. They watch as he dives into the 12 inches of water and is alright. Piers asks where he can go from this and he says that he will break a world record. Sharon says that it was great and exciting. Howie says that he is going to Vegas because he risked his life. That is it for the Houston auditions and they move on to the next city.
