Auditions continue tonight and this week they are New York to seek out the talent that awaits to be discovered. They get into the auditorium and the judges take their seats to await the hopefuls to show them what they have and show that New York has talent.

First up to want to prove just that are “Triple Threat”, a group of aspiring singers, actors and dancers. They come out on stage and sing a song from “Hairspray” and it is not good at all. They are buzzed three times and complain that they didn’t get to finish their act. They ask what they could have changed and Piers says that they need to change the singing, acting and dancing and says that it was not good. They vote and it is an unanimous no for them.

This sets off a montage of horrible acts that displease the judges to see the point of coming to New York in the first place. They all get rejected from progressing into the competition.

The next act is “Snap Boogie”, a dancer who wants to break the curse that New York has on them. He comes out and is amazing with his moves. Howie says that it was fantastic and liked the humility and how he owned the stage. Piers says that he is this wild beast and says that he is a very good dancer. Sharon says that it is a tough gig to be a solo dancer and she says that he was fantastic. He gets a resounding yes and moves on to the next round.

Next is Michael Turco, a magician that keeps making women appear from different places. At the end of his performance, Howie says that it was great. Piers says that he wishes he could produce women like that out of thin air. Sharon says that was amazing and he gets through to the next round to show them again his skill.

Up next is sword swallower Riley Schillaci. She comes out and starts doing her “talent” and Nick is asked to pull a sword out of her mouth. After, he is grossed out and runs off the stage. The judges are mortified of it and Howie says that her there was a lot of distain in her presentation. He says that she has to work on her performance and all three judges say no. Riley will have to swallow swords somewhere else for now.

Next up is Steven Retchless, a “poll-fessional”. He starts poll dancing and it is interesting. Piers buzzes. At the end, Sharon says that he should be called Steve the Magnificent. She says that everyone would fall in love with him. Howie says that he appreciates him, not love. Piers says that they all have bodies like that and says that he didn’t get it. Piers says no, Sharon says yes and Howie says yes. He gets his ticket to Vegas. Nick gets on the poll and says that he had to do it.

Next up is ELEW, a pianist that feels that he goes into an alter ego. He starts to play the piano and is amazing at it and shows skills that Howie has never seen before. Sharon asks if he started off playing rock and he says that it was classical and then he wanted something different. Howie says that it was phenomenal. Piers says that he enjoyed it and was amazed. The judges all say yes to him and he gets his ticket to Vegas as well.

Last up for the night is Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. He comes out and is not that professional in his presence. He starts singing and he sounds like Frank Sinatra. Sharon asks if he was miming and he says that is his real voice. Howie says that he was a big surprise and it was great. Piers says that he thought that it was going to be a train wreck and he was surprised that it was amazing. Howie says that his life is never going to be the same. Landau gets emotional and the judges give him a pass to Vegas. This ends day one of New York.
