The acts compete for a spot in the top 48 in Vegas - Recap

It is serious now and the talent moves on to Las Vegas to show that they have the talent and to prove that they have what it takes to make it through to Hollywood and to the Quarter Finals of the competition. The judges watch the acts as they travel to Vegas to see which acts they are going to want to see again and which act are definitely going to go through without needing to prove themselves further.

All the acts are being asked to sit in different sections of the auditorium. The judges comes out and tells that not all are going to be able to perform and those who are going to performing are going to have to bring it. However, Captain Tug-and-pull and Mabel, Rhinestone Ropers, Fearless Flores Family, Team Illuminate, Melissa Viaseno, Lis Agnes, Miami All Stars, Professor Splash, Silhouettes and Squawk Opera are told that they are going through with no need to prove themselves further.

The acts performing for their spots for Day One are put on a list and wishes them luck. First up is the Danger Category. Charles performs first and impresses with his smooth act. Kevin Shelly shows that he has strength, but has the act go wrong on him. Sharon says that he was very professional. Yellow Designs Stunt Team goes to the stage and they are good at what they do. Frank Miles raises his game by falling on coolers with one of them having a hunting knife in one. Frank starts to think it was over the line.

Next up are the vocal groups. Remedy is first up and they do alright. Mona Lisa hits the stage and does better. 4Play is the last to try out for the vocal groups. However, they have the nerves get to them and the judges decide that they are going home already and that ends 4Play’s chance to make it to Hollywood.

The acrobatic act are next and Zuma Zuma shows that they are amazing and Howie is certain that they have no bones. Jump roping team shows that they compare and give a great performance. Steve Retchless and Soleil compete against each other and both do a good job.

Next up are Magicians and Fantastic Fig is up first. He does an alright job with close magic, but the judges aren’t too impressed. Scott Alexander comes up and wows the judges. Michael is up and in the beginning, the door messes up on him. He manages to fix the problem and move on causing 4 women to appear in a cage.

Pet Acts are next and Jessie the Jack Russell is up and doesn’t impress. Echo the parrot and Vegas Birds fail to impress as well and the judges take their audition pieces in to account to judge correctly.

Classical Singers are up next and Necessary Diva is up first and she shows that she has the chops to handle the competition. Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. is next and he impresses with his Frank Sinatra voice once again. He gets Cindy Chang to root for him and they support one another. Last up Cindy Chang and she was wobbly and below par. They send her home immediately.

The Bands are up now and there are a lot of them. BGP get on stage and do their rendition to a popular song. Fiddleheads are up and they have a fun time on stage. Poplyfe show they have a great tone and impress the judges.

The Dance Acts are up and during their rehearsals, Fatally Unique has one of their dancers is rushed to the hospital. Lucia from LD Dance has a severely sprained ankle, but she goes on anyway and does a great job regardless. Snap Boogie impresses the judges with his dance skills. Fatally Unique has their dancer come back and she tells that she fractured the tip of her nose and cut open her lip. They do a great job and nail the audition.

The female singers are up and Dani Shay says that she is going to take a risk and do an original song. However, she gets chokes up in the moment. Sharon calls her back in and says that they are going to give her another chance to not sing an original, but a popular song to show that she has it.

As Dani prepares, the comedians are up and J. Chris Newberg sings a song of what men are thinking when they are getting a lap dance. Those Funny Little People step it up and Howie asks for a picture with Piers and them.

Danii is finally ready and “Trouble” is the song she is going to sing. Piers and Howie are wondering if it was fair to give her another chance. Novelty Acts are up next and they have to decide on a drag queen and a ping pong ball hitter. The popsicle stick guy impresses. The Male Singers are up and Dezmond impresses with his voice

Now that the Day One performances are over, the judges are going to have to decide which acts are going to be able to get through and which acts are going to have to go home. The acts have to face the judges and first to be eliminated is strong lady, Necessary Diva. Geachy Guy and J. Chris Newberg get on to Hollywood. Scott Alexander is through. All the danger acts get through besides Kevin. Poplyfe gets through. The Little People and Echo the parrot gets through as well. Mona Lisa gets through. Fatally Uniuqe get through wheras LD Dance do not. Dezmond gets through but Ryan Andreas doesn’t. Snap Boogie gets through. Steve Retchless goes through, but Soleil doesn’t. Landall Eugene Murphy, Jr. makes it through. The last to make it through is Dani Shay. The standbys are going to have a tight spot to fill.
