Twelve Wildcard acts perform - Recap

The Wildcard Acts are up to perform tonight. For Sharon: Avery and the Calico Hearts, Yellow Designs Stunt Team, Shevonne and West Springfield Dance Team. For Piers: Charles Peachock, Landon Swank, Summerwind Skippers, and The Kinetic King. For Howie: J Chris Newberg, Seth Grabel, The Fiddleheads and Those Funny Little People. The acts are going to be able to try to show that the judges made a mistake as well as America for letting them go the first time. Nick comes out and the stage is set-up with the first act of the night. Piers says that they brought back acts that they feel were good.

First up is “The Kinetic King”. He tells that his last trick wasn’t good because of a malfunction. He is determined for that not to happen again. He comes out and pulls the string. As the big pieces fell, the crowd gets louder and louder. The act works. Piers says that he was amazing and he is truly the king at this. Sharon says that she bows down to him and says that it was great. Howie says that he is the only man that can do this and says that it was entertaining. Nick saws congratulations and lets the crowd cheer.

Those Funny Little People are up next. They tell that they are going to show Piers that they belong in the competition. They come out on stage and have different costumes and dance to music. Piers buzzes. Howie says that he didn’t see much of the act because he was looking at Piers and his disgust. Piers says that Howie turned the show into a mockery and says that it is stupid. Sharon says that it is funny and that they did a great show. They say that they feel that they did a great job.

Avery and the Calico Hearts perform next and they tell that they want to go to the semi-finals. They come out singing “Dynamite” and Piers buzzes. At the end, the crowd jumps to their feet. Sharon says that they are very talented and that they did really good. Piers says that he believes that he doesn’t think that they can win, but tells them that in a few years, they are going to be terrific. Howie says that he doesn’t disagree with Piers, but doesn’t deserve the buzz. Nick asks how exciting it is to be back. Avery says that they are very excited and it was great.

Seth Grabel is next and he says that he is glad to get another chance and that he is going to do a re-appearing act. He comes out and makes a Dilorian appear. There is mini Piers, Sharon and Howie in the car. Howie says that he is glad that Seth is back and that it was great magic that was shown. Piers says that it was a good show, but the magic wasn’t that much. Sharon says that she likes the little ones and that it was a good act.

Shevonne is next and she tells that she is getting a second chance and that she is going to prove herself tonight. She performs and at the end, she gets a standing ovation. Sharon says that she took her breath away. She says that she did really well and she is happy that she is back. Howie says that he thinks that they made a mistake in letting her go in Vegas. Piers says he agrees with Howie and says that even though it was pitchy a bit, she has an unusal voice and says that she could be really good. Shevonne says that she is glad to be there again.

West Springfield Dance Crew is next and they were excited that they were picked for the wildcard show. They come out and dance to heavy metal. Sharon says that she thinks that they are the first horror dance themed dancers she knows and she says that is unique and that she likes it. Howie says that the last performance was amazing, but doesn’t think that they stepped up the dance. Piers says that he must be sick and says that he agrees with Howie. Nick asks them how they put the routine together and they tell that the help from their coaches did it and they did their best.

J Chris Newberg is next and he tells that he is happy to be back and is ready for the fight. He takes the “roast” type of jokes and makes fun of Piers. Howie says that he is great. Piers says it was rude, but funny. Sharon says that it was really funny and says that he has balls of steel for doing that. J Chris Newberg says that he did it out of love and that he is glad that Piers was a good sport.

Next up is Yellow Designs Stunt Team and they tell that they were devastated when they had to go home. They come out with a pirate theme. Sharon says that it worked great and they bring a sense of excitement. Howie says that he loves that there is a story and a theme and says that it is great. Piers says that they do crazy stunts and says that they are really entertaining.

Charles Peachock is next and he says that he didn’t like that he was not put through. He comes out on stage and juggles a chainsaw on fire. However, he drops one of the swords in the next part of it. Piers says that he blew it because he dropped the sword. Sharon says that she feels bad for him too and says that she was rooting for him. Howie says that he is sorry that he dropped the sword.

The Fiddleheads come out next and they tell that they thought that they did a great job with the performance. They tell that they have the chance to go back to basics and want to put it all on the line. They come out and sing “Grenade”. Howie says that they brought it again. Piers says that the group doesn’t work as a group. Sharon says that tonight they were back in their comfort zone.

Summerwind Skippers are next and they tell that they were happy to be called back and that they are going to bring an element of danger into the act. They come out and make a small mistake in the beginning, but recover. They bring out a jump rope on fire and they do a great job. Piers says that even though they had a mistake, it was a fast recovery. Sharon says that they have made skipping rope sexy. Howie says that he wasn’t a fan, but tonight, it is a great act that is a headline show. They say they are excited that they are there.

Last up for the night is Landon Swank. He says that he is going to show that he deserves his spot and he is going to ad danger to the act. He comes out and puts himself in water tied. The trick goes off without any problems. Piers says that was magic and says that he is definitely going through. Sharon says that he is really sexy and says that the trick was fabulous. Howie says that both magicians did well and it is not a contest between Howie and Piers. With all the acts done performing, there are only 4 spots remaining!
