Wesley Wyndham-Pryce, played by Alexis Denisof
Wesley, portrayed by Alexis Denisof, is a character we first met in the third season of Buffy. At that time, he was a clumsy watcher sent to replace Giles as Buffy's watcher.
In the first season of Angel, we first meet him and he has made a big change. He still has some of those clumsy traits, but tries to be more manly when it comes to fighting demons.
As the seasons progress, he matures as a character and becomes vital in the overall context of the series. He becomes more aggressive in season three after all his friends left him for not telling them about the Angel prophecy that he kept secret. With Wesley all alone, he develops a relationship with Lilah that ends in season four when Wesley returns to the team after they forgave him for his actions earlier.
Wesley gets a role in Wolfram & Hart which leads to him developing a relationship to Fred only to have her die at the hands of Illyria. Wesley mourns over Fred by standing with Illyria seemingly wanting Fred to come back to life. Wesley figures out that Angel had changed their memories not realizing it was involving Connor. Wesley assumes it has to do with Fred being dead so he shatters those memories releasing the past. Eventually, Wesley fights his last battle and dies in the series finale with the last scene being Wesley and "Fred" sharing a moment before he draws his last breath. |
