Allen Francis Doyle [S01], played by Glenn Quinn

Doyle, played by Glenn Quinn, had a small role on the series. He only appeared in the first half of season one as a cast regular. He appeared to Angel in "City Of" to tell him that he will be giving him visions from the Powers-That-Be. Doyle, Cordelia and Angel fought danger in Los Angeles as team until the episode "Hero" where Doyle sacrificed his life for the sake of furthering Angel's mission to redeem his life.

Connor [S04, recurring in S03 & S05], played by Vincent Kartheiser

Connor, played by Vincent Kartheiser, first appeared on the show midway through season three. He was the "impossible" baby between Angel and Darla. Angel spent the better part of season three trying to be a good father to the child. The end result was Wesley uncovering a prophecy that said Angel would kill his son. With that prophecy in mind, the child ended up being swept away by one of Angel's enemies to Hell dimension.

Connor returned to the series toward the end of season three as a teenager. The Hell dimension accelerated his age. Connor was out for blood to kill his blood father. Connor, trained by Holtz, was taught to hate Angel. Connor eventually got his wishes by sending Angel to the bottom of the sea. Connor pretended to not know about Angel's disappearance until Angel showed up back at the hotel.

Connor learned to accept Angel as his father with animosity toward him in his heart. As season four progressed with Connor being the father of him and Cordelia's child "Jasmine", we learn what the root of his problem is. Connor reveals as a suicidal maniac that Angel could never give him the life he wanted. Angel was never there for him and failed him as a father. Angel, wanting to fix his pain, changes his memories to have a new family and a new life. Connor disappears from the show until later in season five when he is shown helping Angel at times after having his old memores returned to him.

Harmony Kendall [S05], played by Mercedes McNab

Harmony, played by Mercedes McNab, had a relatively minor part on the series. She first appeared in the episode "Disharmony" in season two. She wanted to be a part of Cordelia's life again, which turned out for the worst since Harmony is a vampire. She virtually left the series after that one episode.

Harmony returned for a more important role in season five. She became Angel's secretary at Wolfram & Hart. Serving as comic relief, she tried to be a good player for the team fighting her vampire self plenty of times. Toward the end of the series she was added to the opening credits. Harmony winds up betraying Angel in the series finale, which leads her to flee Los Angeles.

Spike [S05], played by James Marsters

Spike, played by James Marsters, had little to do with the series other than Angel's flashbacks until season five. Spike appeared first in season one with the episode "In the Dark." Spike's only reason for coming to Los Angeles was to retrieve what Oz brought to Angel. With that prize being destroyed, Spike left the series to return back to Sunnydale.

Aside from flashbacks, Spike returns to the series in season five. He comes back against his will as a visible ghost. Spike is bound to Wolfram & Hart through the amulet he wore at his destruction in Sunnydale. Spike, not fond of Angel, wants to leave the city all together. After a while, Spike decides to hang around the town when he is made corporeal again. Spike sees the potential good he can do in Los Angeles. Spike is befriended by long time Angel enemy Lindsey, who poses as Doyle, to put Spike on a "right track for redemption." The premise becomes who is the champion the Shanshu Prophecy speaks of. Spike stands by the team until the series finale where he, Angel, Gunn, and Illyria prepare for their final battle.
