When Lorne performs a spell on Cordelia to restore her memory, it inadvertently causes the gang to revert back to their high school personas and leaves them with no memories of each other. Eventually, they discover that the only way to reverse the spell is to kill a vampire, just as Angel realizes that he is one.

Wesley describes a test of a secret gaunlet when only the braviest are put in a house with a vampire. This happened on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode.
Angel: I'm supposed to be evil, but they attack me without cause. They gang up on me because I'm different, They're as bad as my father.
Connor: Fathers. Don't they suck?
Angel: Say on thing, then... "Be good. Fear God. Do as your told." And the whole while I know good and well, he's done his share of sinning.
Connor: Sounds kinda like my father.
Angel: Is he a self-righteous Bastard?
Connor: You'd be amazed.
Wesley: Did I miss the spell? Did English go away?
Lorne: First of all she didn't say 'may your words please the gods' but rather 'may you orally please the gods.'
(Looks at Angel)
Cordelia: Hello salty goodness.
Wesley: I'm the head boy.
Cordelia: Gee, I wonder how you earned that nickname.
Wesley: A lot of effort I must say.
Angel: I'm not your friend you English pig. We didn't want you in Ireland and we didn't want you now!
Cordelia: OK we heard from Scarlet O Please Shut Me Up, does anybody else have a theory?
Wesley: It's a clue none the less, perhaps the whole point of this experiment is hair!
Gunn: I vote he is not in charge!
(Regarding Wesley and Gunn fighting)
Angel: It's about time the English got what he had coming to him. I'm rooting for the slave!
Cordelia: I apparently have filled out a lot.
Fred: I apparently ain't gonna.
Cordelia: Me and Connor weren't exactly staying in the Mandrian.
Mandrian is an expensive hotel chain in Los Angeles.
Gunn: I say we gut his damn head off.
Wesley: Thank you very much Marie Antoinette.
