Although the show was canceled in 1996, and then revived in 1999 for two more seasons, this episode marks the FINAL episode ever of Are You Afraid of the Dark

Shadia Simmons and Kerry Duff are both Disney Channel veterans having appearned in numerous movies/shows on the network. It's interesting that the two appear together on a Nickelodeon show.
