We learn that Michael's wife, Tracy, most likely died due to ovarian cancer.

Episode Quotes
George Michael: The new facility's pretty nice. It's like school ... but air-conditioned.

Tobias: Oh, come on. Don't leave your Uncle T-Bag hanging!
George Michael: Please don't call yourself that.

Lucille: I want to cry so badly, but I don't think I can spare the moisture.

Lindsay: Did it ever occur to you that maybe Warden Gentiles likes her?
Michael: Likes her what?
Lindsay: No, I mean, likes her. Like, is attracted to her.
Michael: Who’s the “her” in that sentence?
Lindsay: Mom. Warden Gentiles likes Mom.
Michael: Her?

Narrator: Buster had recently brought home a turtle in an incredibly misguided attempt to make his mother jealous.
Buster: You can stay in this box that Uncle/Father Oscar left behind.
Narrator: In fact, it was a box of Oscar’s legally obtained medical marijuana.
Buster: Oh, good, you’ve already got grass.
Narrator: Primo bud. Real sticky weed.

Tobias: I'm afraid I'm with Michael on this. The guy runs a prison. He can have any piece of ass he wants.

Cultural References
Episode Title: Prison Break-In

The title of the episode comes from FOX's break out hit Prison Break.

George Sr: Shrinkage. Someone saw Seinfeld last night.

George Sr. is referring to a Seinfeld episode entitled "The Hamptons" where George has to explain 'shrinkage' after he emerges nude from a swimming pool.

Narrator: Oscar never got a chance to hide behind the mirror. Although, it wasn’t the first time he’d been knocked out by a powerful lid.

"Lid" is slang for an ounce of marijuana.

Episode References
Visual: G.O.B. with his jet pack

G.O.B. first had his jet pack in the episode "Mr. F".

George Sr.: (about house arrest) [House arrest] is the time of my life.

George Sr.'s line parallels his line "I'm having the time of my life" that he spoke while in prison in the "Pilot".

Big Yellow Joint

The song "Big Yellow Joint" is heard numerous times during the episode. The song first appeared in "Pier Pressure" as a song written by Jimmy Jane in the 1970s about how the frozen banana stand looks like a big, yellow joint.

Buster: You can stay in this box that Uncle/Father Oscar left behind.

The box that Buster puts his turtle in is the box of Afternoon Deelite from "Afternoon Delight".

Warden Gentiles: I promised myself I wasn’t going to become one of those people who were always going on about their screenplays. So, I’ll just say I put together a staged reading with some fabulous young actors, and it was very well received.

Warden revised his play "New Warden" which was first seen in "Staff Infection".

Visual: George Michael holding a woodblock

George Michael holding a woodblock is a reference to "Best Man for the Gob" when George Michael wanted to join Dr. Fünke’s 100% Natural Good-Time Family-Band Solution.

Narrator: But this, too, would prove challenging, as the family had no books. Other than those.

The only books in the Bluth house are copies of The Man Inside Me. The Man Inside Me was first seen in "Let 'Em Eat Cake" when the book becomes a best seller in the gay community.

Visual: George, Sr. holding up Franklin while going through boxes

Franklin, the puppet, was first seen in "Meet the Veals".

Lucille: P-2-2-5-2. (beep)

The code to unlock George, Sr.'s ankle bracelet is the same as the code seen on the wall in Mexico during "Good Grief!".

Prison Guard: You can’t park there! No stair car parking!

The prison guards comment dates back to "Visiting Ours" when the inmates used the staircar to escape when it was parked near the gate.
