Chris learns from Katie that he wasn't strong enough to have a pump installed. When Margo and Tom hear about the accident they head to Bay City. Casey is asked by Bob to take Luke to the hospital restaurant so that he will not see Reid when he's brought in the hospital. Reid tells an upset Luke that he would like his heart to be given to Chris when it looks like he wont survive. Reid's heart ends up being a match for Chris. Katie learns from a devastated Luke that Reid has died and it was his last request for his heart to be given to Chris. Luke and Katie say goodbye to Reid one last time. Allison wants to be part of the team that perform Chris's heart transplant surgery.
