Lily and Holden go to Lukes school to meet with his teacher. Lukes teacher believes that he is acting out because his home life has been unstable. When she accuses Lily of being responsible for Lukes problems, Holden defends Lily, insisting she is a great mother. He storms out of the school and they argue about how they handled the situation on the drive home. After they accidentally drive off the road into a ditch, Holden blows up at Lily for ruining their relationship. Their argument escalates and they wind up in a passionate embrace and admit their love. Jack is distraught when he sees the broken compass and calls Carly, but she wont answer. Meanwhile, a wounded Craig shows up on Carlys doorstep with a gunshot through his foot. He implores her not to tell the police that he has been shot. Carly tends to Craigs wound and is touched to see how concerned he is about Lucys safety. Jack comes to her apartment, insisting she let him in. Craig hides in the bedroom and listens while Carly tells Jack that shes done waiting for him to tell Julia hes leaving her. She asks him to leave. Craig tells Carly that Jack is not good for her and she deserves better. Later, Bob visits Julia in the psychiatric hospital. She wins his sympathy as she portrays herself as a victim of Carly.
