• As The World Turns... 50!

These days, if a television show lasts five years, it is considered a financial and artistic success. Such an accomplishment, compared to the CBS daytime drama "As The World Turns," is like pitting an ant against an elephant in a knife fight. There's just no battle. The show began April 2, 1956. That means there have been more than 12,000 episodes dealing with life in the fictional town of Oakdale. The 50th anniversary is being marked with special episodes of the daytime drama to be broadcast Friday and Monday.
