35 :01x35 - Ze Frank, Mario Opera, User Created (May/25/2005)
As we all know, the internet exists primarily to waste time with, and you can find no better time-waster than ZeFrank.com. Created by a fellow named, ironically enough, Ze Frank, the site is chock full of funny videos, games, interactive toys, and various readings. How did it get started?

“In March of 2001 I videotaped myself dancing to Madonna’s ‘Justify My Love,’” Ze explained. “I put it online as an invitation to my birthday. Now, about 40 million have watched it.”

There’s quite a bit of participatory content wherein you can add your own creations (such as “When Office Supplies Attack”).

“This is a big hobby that makes no money,” said Ze. “I do it for the children.”

Head over to ZeFrank.com for all the fun and games.

36 :01x36 - Real Ninja Power, Modern Drunkard Mag, LAN Party (May/26/2005)
Who is Robert Hamburger, and is he a bona fide child ninja? Well, to tell you the truth, he’s not a 10-year-old kid, and his site isn’t for real—even if lots of visitors believe in it. Actually, “Robert” decided to start a ridiculous ninja site supposedly created by a prepubescent “expert” after he scribbled down his ninja philosophy at work one day:

“You gotta flip out and kill people, you gotta be a mammal, and you have to play a guitar,” he summarized.

“When it comes to seeking out adventure, there is no better companion than alcohol,” claims the editor of Modern Drunkard on the magazine’s site —and we’re not entirely sure if he’s joking or not. Modern Drunkard celebrates the imbibing lifestyle in decidedly un-PC terms that are nevertheless funny.

We know there are a few Windows users out there who hate iTunes but still have to use it because they own an iPod and there aren't many options. Well, someone has finally written a plug-in that lets your iPod sync with WinAmp: ml_ipod. It gives you most of the functionality of iTunes, and can support multiple iPods. However, we had a few problems copying songs back onto our hard drive from the iPod—so there might be some bugs that still need to be worked out.

37 :01x37 - Max Cannon, Leveling Up. PINE*am (May/27/2005)
Max Cannon draws the delightfully perverse comic strip Red Meat, now available in the best-of book, Red Meat Gold. “This is the one to have,” declared Max. “Solid gold wacky.”
PINE*am are three gals out of Osaka, Japan who shake, rattle, rock and roll with a pop punk spunk and dance floor groove. The name is an epigram for the band’s modus operandi: Playing Intense Neutral Electronica ad nauseAM

Level up your World of Warcraft character for a fee at AAA Power Leveling.

Long before the internet became everybody’s favorite electronic community/porn delivery service, there were Bulletin Board Systems. These were computers set up by “SysOps” to be accessible via phone lines so people could modem in to share software, discussions, and, um, stuff. They were quickly outdated by the rise of the internet, but some users still have fond memories of their old-school interactivity.

Can’t bear the heavy burden of your average laptop? Then read what G4 Lab Rat Lawson Wong has to say about the latest lightweight notebook PCs in his roundup review.
Infinium’s Phantom game console/service has probably inspired more accusations of vaporware than any proposed product, ever. Promising to offer a library of downloadable PC games, the Phantom aims to create a true game-on-demand network with its streaming technology. When former Xbox visionary Kevin Bachus was hired as Infinium’s President and COO a year and a half ago, the company gained a good deal of credibility. However, with one postponed launch date and a no-show at E3 2005, the Phantom is once again considered dubious.

43 :01x43 - Bruce Campbell, Micro NES Controller, Chris Gore (Jun/07/2005)
The one and only Bruce Campbell—immortalized by his role as Ash in the Evil Dead trilogy by Sam Raimi—came by to reveal How to Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way. Well, that’s the name of his new book, anyway, and it’s an open question whether it’ll actually suggest ways to improve your lovemaking techniques. The novel is about a B-movie actor named Bruce Campbell who finds himself in an A-picture.
That crafty G4 engineer David Randolph has done it again. To follow up on his World’s Biggest NES Controller, he has devised… the World’s Smallest NES Controller. It’s so small, in fact, that the only way to play a game with it is to use sticks to press the buttons. How did he manage to build it? Why, just read his step-by-step instructions.
Guest Stars: Bruce Campbell (1) as Himself, Chris Gore as "DVDuesday" Critic
