Toph is a twelve year old Earthbender who has been blind her whole life. She does not feel blind though, because she uses her powers of Earthbending to see, so it is like seeing with her feet. Her parents never knew how good of an earthbender she was, and always treated her like a helpless little child. After she met Aang, she found the courage to to tell her parents who she really was, and later joined Aang, Katara, and Sokka on their journey so she could teach Aang earthbending.
