The ominous man whose features are always shadowed, is the father of Prince Zuko, brother to Iroh, and is the current ruler of the Fire Nation. While he has been shown in flashbacks and mentioned many times, he has yet to make a present-time appearance in the show. He banished his fourteen-year-old son from their homeland for being "disrespectful" and "showing shameful weakness", and is the one who gave Zuko his facial scar. According to his brother Iroh, Ozai is not the understanding type, which is an incredible understatement. Ozai is a master firebender and does not know the meaning of mercy, even when it comes to family. He wears a flame-shaped comb piece in his topknot, and has a younger daughter who is a firebending prodigy.

Roku of the Fire Nation was the Avatar before Aang, and reigned for a century. He kept the world in peace until his death, and the Fire Nation's ambition for world domination took flight. Roku's animal guide was a large red dragon with the ability to communicate telepathically by placing one of its whiskers on a person's forehead. There use to be a golden statue of Roku on the top floor of a temple on a cresent-moon shaped island in the Fire Nation, but that temple was destroyed in episode 8, by Roku himself.
NOTE: Has only appeared in about three episodes.

Zhao is also part of the fire nation, he has been promoted from captian to commander,and now admiral. He is also after the avatar. He has not been seen since Siege of the North Prt. II when the Water Spirit dragged him into the water, and it is be assumed he is now dead.
