|
Aang's friends get more and more uneasy as they sense something is different about him. Finally, he is forced to tell them the more- he is not just an airbender. He is the missing Avatar! Meanwhile, Prince Zuko, the banished prince of the Fire Nation, closes in on the Avatar's location, determined to capture Aang at any cost. It's going to take all of the Avatar's skill to escape the prince and begin his journey at last.

| We find out that Zuko's father, grandfather, and great grandfather all searched for the Avatar but never found him. We also find out Zuko has been searching for the Avatar for 2 years.
| This is the first time we see the Fire Nation.

| Sokka: (chipping away the ice Katara has ally frozen him in) I'm just a guy...with a bommerang...didn't ask for all the flying... and magic...
| Katara: Why didn't you tell us you were the Avatar?
Aang: Because...I never wanted to be...
| Sokka: (knocks Zuko off his ship) That's from the Water Tribe!
| Sokka: (uninterested) Go. Up. Soar.
Katara: Come on, Appa, don't you wanna save Aang?
Sokka: (still uninterested) Fly. Ascend. Elevate.
| Zuko: (looking at Aang's staff) This staff will make an excellent gift for my father (to Aang) I suppose you woudn't know of fathers, being raised by monks. Take the Avatar to the prison hold! (Hands Iroh Aang's staff) Take this to my quarters (walks away)
Uncle Iroh: (looks at the staff and hands it to a guard) Hey, do you mind taking this to his quarters for me?
| Zuko: I’ve spent years preparing for this encounter. Training, meditating…but you’re just a child!
Aang: Well, you’re just a teenager.
| Sokka: Fun? We can't fight fire benders with fun.
Aang: You should try it some time.
| Sokka: I knew it you signaled the Fire Navy with that flare! You’re leading them straight to us, aren’t you?!
Katara: Aang didn’t do anything! It was an accident!
Aang: Yeah, we were on the ship and there was a boobie trap and, well, we boobied right into it.
| Aang: Wow... I haven't cleaned my room in a hundred years. Not looking forward to that.

| One of the things Aang tells Sokka and Katara is that he's going to ride the elephant koi fish, which he does in a later episode, "The Warriors of Kyoshi".
