Aang officially starts his Earthbending training in this episode.

This episode marks the first time Aang uses earthbending, besides while in the Avatar State.

Zuko: So Uncle, I’ve been thinking. It’s only a matter of time before I run into Azula again. I going need to learn more advance firebending if I want to stand a chance against her. I know what you’re going to say, “She’s my sister and I should be trying to get along with her”.
Uncle Iroh: No, she’s crazy and she needs to go down.

Sokka: (Stuck in a hole)Okay karma person or thing, whoever is in charge of this stuff. If I can just get out of this situation alive, I will give up meat and sarcasm. Okay? That’s all I got.
