| 2 :01x03 - Soul Hunter (Feb/02/1994) | Enter Dr. Franklin, Babylon 5's new medical chief of staff, and an old friend of Sinclair's. The doctor arrives just in time for learning about a newly encountered species, whose ship tumbled through the jump gate, seriously damaged, with a passenger barely alive. Delenn, usually nonplussed, insists that it should be killed immediately, that it is a threat to everyone on Babylon 5. It is a Shaktaut, a "Soul Hunter". Attracted to death, it purportedly steals souls at the moment of expiration. Franklin is unimpressed, believing it all to be religious poppycock.
When someone dies, however, and it's clear the Soul Hunter knew ahead of time, Franklin finds his first day on Babylon 5 to be a major challenge to his perception of science. | | Guest Stars: W. | 3 :01x04 - Born to the Purple (Feb/09/1994) | Londo Mollari is a man with a long and successful history in a highly byzantine culture, and, as such, his files of information regarding other peoples' secrets are extensive, valuable, and highly useful in the wrong hands. When someone succeeds in obtaining these files, it is a serious problem which Londo has to deal with swiftly and with little regard to his personal preferences.
G'Kar has his own problems - a very strong-headed and aggressive aide has arrived to the station to be his attache, and she has very few diplomatic talents.
Sinclair is frustrated working with them in very important peace talks, as is Talia, who is assigned to the negotiations. Sinclair for the lack of attention being paid by both of them, Talia due to the strong emotions both are broadcasting without restraint.

| 4 :01x05 - Infection (Feb/16/1994) | A respected former colleague and mentor of Dr. Franklin turns up at the station with a proposition. He has found some unique artifacts which Franklin's skills and equipment can help to understand and teach about living machines, the one area human science has yet to get a handle on. They recognize the Vorlons have this technology, and believe the Minbari have some understanding of it, but humans have never gotten a chance to examine it up close. Unfortunately, what they have found is a weapons technology, which is designed to take over a living host and turn it into a protector -- a killing machine designed to defend its creators. Unfortunately, what it protects no longer exists, but humans are perceived as a threat, regardless. If it is not stopped, it will destroy Babylon 5 and all the life forms on it.
In addition, for the second anniversary of Babylon 5's operation, Sinclair is scheduled to be interviewed by Interstellar Network News. The options are slim, and Tahlia reluctantly agrees to use her powers to wipe his brain and reprogram him. Meanwhile, Londo recieves word from the emperor's aid, requesting Londo to keep an "upper hand" and forge useful alliances. He will start his work at the station being goaded into initiating a battle with a Minbari warship. There is some concern over Garibaldi's health, and Dr Franklin suggests a rather unorthodox procedure to save his life. Londo is recieving a lot of attention on Centauri having solved the problem with quadrant 37. A shift in power is approaching on Centauri, and a group of people are very interested in making sure the correct person is residing on the throne. Seeing more than one techno-mage is considered a bad omen, so when three are spotted on the station, it creates some interest, specifically with Londo. Dr Franklin is handing out "food plans" to everybody, as he's concerned about their health. Scattered members of the Nightwatch are still around the station. They are biding their time and waits for the right moment to retake control over the station. Delenn initiate a rebirth ceremony in order to help a healing process to start and make the transition easier. It proves difficult to find members to partake. Londo takes an interest in current Centauri war plans - and realizes quickly that Mr Morden has found a new allie in Lord Reefa. Londo doesn't hold back in order to try and stop the insanity and find a way to give Reefa an offer he can't refuse. The plight of Arthur is an enigma but he instills respect and stirs the imagination of all that meets with him. He finds an unexpected brother in arms in G'Kar who admires him deeply. The prices on the station are sky-rocketing and the internal finances needs looking over. Consequently Garibaldi is in a situation that is next to extortion with the local post office, who knows to charge through the nose. The food situation isn't good - and the diet of some of the lesser fortunate causes diseases. Lennier have decided to leave Delenn, and become a ranger. Finally it's clear that it's the Draak, the leftover race from when the Shadows left that are doing all this, and they are controlling the Centauri regent. Centauri is left completely vulnerable, without any defense, and the attack on the planet leaves it in ruins. Londo scurries to try and salvage as much as he can of his beloved homeworld, and this includes dealing with the regent. He finds out that it is his turn to accept the dark that was foretold. The Draak wants a new home, and they have selected Centauri. Franklin appoints his successor as he is to leave for earth. Garibaldi is getting used to his new role as head of Edgar Industries back on Mars. He starts by promoting "his" type of people, and is making a name for himself immediately.
