Chuck Darling, played by Kelsey Grammer Chuck Darling is the co-anchor of WURG-TV, News 9 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the co-anchor as well up until New Years Eve in 1996 when he left for 10 years pursuing higher positions until he was fired after he made obscene comments when he was still on the air. When he returns to WURG-TV he finds out the one night stand he had with co-anchor Kelly Carr produced a daughter, Gracie. |

Kelly Carr, played by Patricia Heaton Kelly Carr is one of the co-anchors of WURG-TV, News 9 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the lead anchor when Chuck Darling left after New Years Eve in 1996, and was very angry when he returned. She reveals to Chuck that he has a daughter, Gracie, but doesn't want him to be involved in her life, at least not yet. |

Montana Diaz Herrera, played by Ayda Field Montana is News 9's weather reporter. She has stated that she will do anything to get people in power to like her. She also has a hard time pronouncing Monongahela River. |

Ryan Church, played by Josh Gad Ryan is the News Director at WURG-TV. He is 26 1/2 years old and was formerly ran the station's internet division. |

Gracie Carr, played by Laura Marano Gracie Carr is the daughter of Kelly Carr and Chuck Darling. She recently turned 11 and is unaware that Chuck is her father. She seems to share many of the same characteristics of Chuck. |

Gary Crezyzewski, played by Ty Burrell Gary Crezyzewski (pronounced "Sure-shwoov-ski") is WURG-TV's Field Reporter, a position he has had for 12 years. He has been trying to get the anchor position for years, and has a little anger towards Chuck when he returns, hoping he would've been promoted to anchor. |
