The show follows the path of Easy Company, an elite paratrooper unit, as they go from basic training in Camp Toccoa, to parachuting into D-Day, to their critical role in the Battle of the Bulge, and finally their triumph at the end of the war. They were one of the best trained and most successful units in all of American military history.
Band of Brothers was nominated for 19 Emmy awards, and won 6. It won a Golden Globe for "Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television". The award winning series also won an American Film Institute Award, a Peabody Award, and a Writer's Guild Award.
