Catman is in a park auctioning off a rare Sumatran tiger. Batman leaps in and Catman has the bidders attack. Batman easily defeats them and Catman releases the tiger to attack Batman. Fortunately, Batman has brought his partner along: Bathound! Bathound drives the tiger off and trees Catman. Batman rewards his partner with a Battreat.
Batman arrives at a bank to stop two robbers who have blown open a vault. When a bodiless voice starts intervening, Batman thinks it’s the crook at first. However, the unseen kibitzer complains that it’s too easy. First he forces the criminals to fight Batman even though they’re rather surrender. When Batman defeats them, the invisible figure summons more crooks and arms them with machineguns. When Batman defeats them, the crooks turn into ninjas armed with sword. Batman finally tells the invisible interferer to appear. A small imp in a Batman-like costume appears and introduces himself as Batman’s number one fan: Bat-Mite! Batman tries to get away but Bat-Mite easily follows him, while explaining that he’s from the fifth dimension and has magic-like powers.
Bat-Mite wants to make Batman cooler and tries out a variety of different costumes for him. When Batman tells him to stop, Bat-Mite summons Gorilla Grodd to give Batman a true challenge. However, the imp quickly grows bored and changes Grodd to Solomon Grundy, and then Shaggy Man. Batman manages to convince him that Calendar Man is a fearsome opponent and Bat-Mite summons him. Batman tells the surprised villain to take a dive and Calendar Man does. However, Bat-Mite thinks the fight should be better so turns Calendar Man into Calendar King, with the power to summon any holiday-related minion. Calendar King sends biker Santas, uber Uncle Sams, and flaming pumpkin heads to attack.
Batman disposes all of the Calendar King’s first wave of minions. However, when Calendar King summons mutant Easter bunnies, Bat-Mite thinks it’s inappropriate and goes back to the fifth dimension to get the opinion of the Bat-fans at a comic book convention. Bat-Mite decides to go with the mutant rabbits, but Batman defeats them and the Calendar King, reverting the latter back to his normal unpowered self. Before Bat-Mite can summon someone else, Batman convinces him that he should be fighting crime instead of wasting his abilities fighting Bat-Mite’s minions. After receiving an autographed Batarang, Bat-Mite agrees and seemingly goes back to his home dimension.
After defeating the robbers at the bank, Batman goes back to the Batcave and talks to Bathound about how Bat-Mite was a troublemaker and a creep. Unfortunately, Batman realizes too late that Bat-Mite returns and disguised himself as Bathound. Now furious at his idol, Bat-Mite teleports Batman to an alien planet and sends a horde of creature after him. After holding them off for a few minutes, Batman finally gets an idea and sits down, refusing to participate. He tells Bat-Mite that if he thinks it’s so easy, the imp should try being Batman.
With a little encouragement from Batman, Bat-Mite creates his own costume and creates a mindscape of Gotham City, complete with Gorilla Grodd. The ape villain tries to create a cerebral augmentation device, and Bat-Miteman manages to stop him. However, things start to go out of control when all of Batman’s villains appear to plague him. They quickly overwhelm him, sending the imp running across the fifth dimension. Batman finally asks if he wants help and Bat-Miteman begs him to assist. Batman goes after the villains and even Bat-miteman manages to take out a few. Once the villains are gone, Bat-Mite reverts to his normal self and admits that he’s a failure. Batman tells him that he should be proud of his magical powers and find something to do with them rather than follow around another hero. Inspired, Bat-Mite thanks him and sends him back to the Batcave.
Later, however, Green Arrow is fighting Copperhead when a familiar-looking imp shows up, wearing a Green Arrow costume and saying he’s the Emerald Archer’s biggest fan…
