Episode Notes
This is the only episode where Mr. Freeze's real name is given: he is identified as Dr. Shivvel (presumably a pun on shiver). In the comics, his real name is Victor Fries, making his non du crime a play on his real name. The recurring theme of Freeze's bitterness at his condition - he requires a temperature of -50 degrees or he will overheat and die - first appears here. He was once a normal man, until an accident left him in this state.

Episode Quotes
Batman: Poor devil... forced to live in an air-conditioned suit that keeps his body temperature down to 50 degrees below zero! No wonder his mind is warped.

Mister Freeze: I will toy with him like cat with mouse. I will lure him right to the scene of the crime. First I toy, then I destroy!

Narrator: Has Batman struck out? Is Robin cool... for good? Can no one save our noble pair of human popsicles? Answers... tomorrow night! Same time, same channel! But one word of warning: By watching, you too can lose your cool!
