Tim's father left Gotham City in fear of being killed by Two-Face. Two-Face came looking for Tim's father but ended up kidnapping Tim instead. Tim was rescued by Batman and later learned that his father would never be returning to Gotham City. Then, Tim wanted to take down "puke face" as he called Two Face and he stole an old Robin suit. After seeing the skills Tim had, Bruce Wayne took him in as a ward and taught him how to be a crime-fighter.
Robin was the person who finally took down the Joker, and saved the world. Tim Drake had been patrolling Gotham Alone on one night and when he tried to save a lady that was in "trouble" he ended up getting kidnapped by the Joker and getting mutated into Joker jr. Then, when he was asked to kill Bruce Wayne (Batman) he ended up pointing the gun at the Joker and shot him in the chest.
